Very recently, Lucid Motors has made several moves on the chessboard against its archrival Tesla.  The California-based startup has just secured an order for 100,000 Lucid EVs from the government of Saudi Arabia over the next ten years.  The price for the Lucid Air starts at $77,400 with some models kicking in at $95,000, $139,000 and $179,000.  The final price-tag of this deal has not been disclosed yet, but it is going to be a huge payday for the California startup.  The Lucid Air is the #1 luxury electric vehicle of 2022, according to Cars.com.  Lucid is also expanding prod

  F-150 Lightning Pickup Goes into Expanded Production                                                       Source:  Ford "The Truck For the Masses" Ford Motor Company has announced that it is more than tripling production volume of its electric F-150 Lightning pickup because of booming demand for the EV. Automotive experts are calling Lightning the most transformative vehicle in the 119 year history of Ford.   Unlike its $200,000+ competitor Tesla's Cybertruck, the Lightning is priced at $40,000 and Ford is calling it "the e-pickup for the masses".  The EV is at the forefront of Ford's efforts to retool and revitalize their brand into a green vehicle powerhouse.  Ford had planned on producing 40,000 Lightnings per year.  Because of rapidly escalating demand, they have decided to more than triple production to 150,000 yearly.   2023 All-Electric Corvette                                             Source: Chevrolet Corvette Hybrid Electric Corvette As Early As This Year  The iconic muscle car, the Chevrolet Corvette, is officially going electric.  According to Chevrolet President Mark Reuss, a fully electric Vett will be in showrooms in 2023 and a hybrid electric version will be on the market much sooner, possibly this year.  It appears the hybrid could be a Vett first with front-wheel or all-wheel drive.  To date, all Corvettes have had rear-wheel drive. Electrifying Vetts Reuss indicates the hybrid model will be based on the current generation Vett design and style.  The all-electric version could be a totally new design.  There also could be what Reuss is calling "electrified variants" of the car.  Most EVs currently on the market are sedans and SUVs because the current generation of batteries optimize the performance of larger, heavier cars more so than that of sports cars.  However, with new

  All-Electric, Super-Fast, Very Stylish Tesla's Big Money-Making Sports Car 2023 is set to be a blockbuster year for Tesla.  Three hotly anticipated new models will go into production, according to Tesla CEO Elon Musk.  The models include the Cybertruck, the Tesla Semi and the Roadster sports car.  The new Roadster, which Tesla says is the world's fastest car, is a big money-maker for Tesla, even though it hasn't even gone into production yet.  The limited-edition Founder's Series Roadster is already sold out at $250,000 each.  1000 of the EVs have been bought, sight unseen, generating $250 million for Tesla.  These EVs won't be produced and delivered until next year.  Tesla is now taking $50,000 deposits to order the standard Roadster, priced at $200,000 for delivery in 2023.  The Roadster is an unusually hot and lucrative car.
