New Bike That is Theft-Proof

It goes into a lockdown mode to prevent it from being stolen. World of Stolen Bikes In Europe alone, one bike is stolen every four minutes.  Multiply that across the planet.  Thieves are able to saw through u-locks or chain lock techniques to steal the bike and leave the bike owner behind high and dry.  If a thief tries to saw through the Yerka 3, they are left with a bike that is absolutely useless.  Even the tires can't be stolen. How Does This Technology Work? The bike needs t

GALAXY DISCOVERED THAT SHOULDN'T BE

Image
Astronomers Find It in Deep Space Source:  ALMA The Wolfe Disk Astronomers have discovered a massive disk galaxy deep in the universe.  It is almost as old as the universe itself at 12.5 billion years old.  The universe is believed to be 13.8 billion years.  It's called the Wolfe Disk and is yet another wonder in space just unveiled by astronomers, who are baffled by its very existence.   The Galaxy That Shouldn't Be What's intriguing is that astronomers say the Wolfe Disk shouldn't exist and shouldn't be where it is in deep space.  Those statements are based on astronomers' current understanding of galaxies.  Their key question is: how did such a well formed rotating disk galaxy  form at a time of chaos in space?  A time when galaxies formed during violent collisions and chaotic mergers.  Created in a Different Way The astronomers believe the Wolfe Disk was created and grew in a very different way.  They theorize that it grew through the steady

Exoplanet "From Hell" Just Discovered

Rains Liquid Molten Iron Source:  Image of Planet Raining Molten Iron Exoplanet WASP-76 B Some scientists are calling WASP-76 B the exoplanet from Hell.  It was just discovered in another solar system and is therefore an exoplanet.  The exoplanet is so exotic that even the weather conditions are extremely bizarre.  On WASP-76 B it's usually cloudy with a chance of rain.  But the rain drops are hot liquid molten iron that are boiling hot.  European scientists and astronomers just spotted it using the planet hunting instrument EXPRESSO on a huge international telescope based in Chile.  The weather conditions on this exoplanet are so severe there is molten iron rain! It's a unique finding in the Universe. And despite the extremely harsh environment, you have to wonder about the value of the mineral deposits on such a far away frontier in space. Ultra Hot Gas Giant 640 Light Years From Earth This very hot exoplanet is 640 light years away from the Earth.  An

New Astronomical Vacations

Total Eclipse of the Sun in Chile Source:  NASA Chile's Astronomical Tourists The brilliantly clear skies above northern Chile will host a total eclipse of the sun in early July.  It is drawing a new and innovative type of tourism.  Visitors who want to witness first hand a very rare sight through crystal clear skies and see global phenomena at their best in real time. Flights and Hotel Rooms Going Like Hot Cakes Many hotels have no rooms left in Northern Chile for the solar and lunar event.  Flights are also being books out quickly. Chile and the Skies Chile is considered paradise for astronomers.  There are dozens of powerful telescopes, advanced technology and astronomical research studies underway.  Of interest, total eclipses are a very rare occurrence.  At any particular location, they occur once in 360 years.  This early July event will be visible in parts of Argentina and New Zealand.  What a fabulous sight!  Puts the beauty of the universe in full perspective
