Canada's New Hyperloop Network TransPod

New Ultra-High-Speed Travel Hybrid                                                       Source:  TransPod Hits Speeds of 662 mph Toronto, Canadian startup TransPod has developed a hybrid train-plane vehicle that can hit speeds of 662 mph.  It's the fully electric powered FluxJet that can travel at speeds six-times that of a train and faster than a jet. The transportation system is based on a new field of physics called "veillance flux".  It is very similar to Elon Musk's original concept of vacuum tube based hyperloop travel, which time-starved Musk told other people to try and develop. Apparently, TransPos did and they're getting the system ready for takeoff in Canada with hopes to carry passengers there in 2035.  Technology Deployed The FluxJet travels in an elevated protected tube guideway using groundbreaking technology base on "veillance flux". Vacuum tubes carry magnetically levitated pods travelling at very high speeds up to 662 mph.  The syste

Virgin Hyperloop: 1st Successful Run

First Successful Test With Passenger Onboard                                          Source:   Virgin Hyperloop Travel at 620 to 700 MPH In Las Vegas yesterday, Virgin Hyperloop made its first successful run with two passengers onboard.  The high speed travel technology travelled 500 meters in just 15 seconds at the Virgin test site. Speeds hit 107.5 mph. The two passengers, Virgin Hyperloop Cofounder/CTO Josh Giegel and Virgin Hyperloop Director of Passenger Experience Sara Luchian sat in a single pod. They said they enjoyed the very high speed ride. They are the first in the world to take a hyperloop ride. The hyperloop carries passengers in small pods that levitate above the track in a vacuum tube.  It is capable of speeds up to 700 mph.  Some experts believe it will revolutionize travel. An expert in Sweden calls it "the barf ride" because of the potential impact of the very high speeds on passengers. No Carbon Emissions This high speed travel "revolutionary"

EUROPE'S HYPERLOOP PLANS

HARDT Hyperloop of The Netherlands Source:  HARDT Hyperloop Paris to Amsterdam in 90 Minutes In The Netherlands, a proposal to develop a hyperloop network for Europe is picking up steam. This, as a feasibility study has concluded a hi-tech link, would be economically feasible. The study was commissioned by Dutch startup HARDT Hyperloop and the Province of Northern Holland.  H yperloop Travel The hyperloop mode of transportation is the brainchild of Tesla CEO Elon Musk. At the moment, he's not involved in this European project. The hyperloop involves train-like pods for travelers to be propelled through low pressure steel vacuum tubes at speeds of 600 mph plus. Commuting Times The new feasibility study concluded that a European-wide hyperloop system would have  significant benefits.  The benefits include shorter commuting  times, blurring boundaries  and growing economic benefits. The study says it c

Elon Musk to Tunnel China

Image
Boring Company to Set-Up Operations in China For China, Tunnel Based Transportation Systems Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk just announced that he's going to launch operations of his Boring Company in China.  He'll do so during a trip to China for an artificial intelligence conference late this month.  The Boring company builds tunnel based transportation systems, including the Hyperloop. From LA & Las Vegas to China Musk has momentum going with the Boring Company, which is far from boring.  Musk recently won his first commercial contract to build a mile long shuttle to ferry tourists around the Las Vegas Convention Center.  He's also built a test tunnel at the company's headquarters in suburban Los Angeles.  In July, he raised $120 million from outside investors to help fund his tunnel projects and proposals.  He wants to build a tunnel system to connect Baltimore and Washington, DC.  That is currently under environmental review.  He's also proposed

Elon Musk's Boring Company - Hyperloops and Loops Source:  The Boring Company CEO Elon Musk Successful Round of Funding There is nothing boring about Elon Musk's Boring Company. The entrepreneur plans to revolutionize transportation with a series of underground vacuum tubes for his Hyperloop and also his Loop system.  He just raised $117 million in funding from investors to advance his plans which include systems in LA, DC, Chicago and elsewhere.  For a great news blog on this, go to Important Innovations Collection: Hyperloop's Boring Co. Elon Musk's Not Boring Boring Co.

Musk Gets OK to Test His Loop Lift from Hyperloop Tunnel to Home Garage Boring Co.'s Tunnel and Lift Boring Company's Loop Lift Hawthorne City, CA City Council just gave Elon Musk and his Boring Company the okay to build a proof of concept prototype of his Loop Lift.  The concept involves an elevator lift to connect, for the test, a ground level garage to an underground Hyperloop tunnel. Specifics The plan is to connect a one mile long Hyperloop tunnel that's on the campus of Musk's Space X to a private house that's owned by a Musk company.  The vision is to cut future traffic from the roads by parking vehicles in underground tunnels and then, for this test, connecting them to the Hyperloop transportation system by the elevator lift. Musk's Vision of the Loop Lift, Hyperloop and Flying Cars Musk envisions a network of underground tunnels and elevator lifts built in the basements of homes, office buildings, malls, you name it.  He believes that

Hyperloop Latest - Revolutionary Travel Tech

Image
Virgin Hyperloop One Proof of Concept and Tested Virgin Hyperloop One is among a number of businesses developing hyperloop systems.  The hyperloop is a revolutionary technology that will dramatically cut travel times between cities. Virgin Hyperloop One has a lot of money behind it - $295 million from Sir Richard Branson's Virgin, GE Ventures and SNCF. The company has already built a proof of concept vehicle.  It's been successfully tested.  The "pod" levitated, accelerated, glides, breaked and came to a stop. The company continues to move the technology forward. Levitation and Gliding Virgin Hyperloop One uses magnetic levitation to lift the train or pod above the tracks.  Electric propulsion accelerates it through a low pressure tube.  The vehicle is capable of gliding at airline speeds.  The promise of this technology is to go 700 to 800 mph. Elon Musk Elon Musk originally introduced the concept of hyperloops.  Virgin Hyperloop One says it has made s

Hyperloop Gets Real

Image
Get Ready for the Ride of Your Life Thanks to the combination of Elon Musk's concept and Sir Richard Branson's investment, the hyperloop is nearing reality. The hyperloop is a pod placed inside a vacuum-sealed tube.  By levitating the pod, friction is dramatically reduced which allows exponentially increased speed.  This technology combination allows for possible speeds of 700-800 miles per hour. Global Hyperloop Competition Entrepreneurs globally are attempting to duplicate Elon Musk's vision of hyperloop travel. A Spanish company Zeleros says their hyperloop system is capable of 745 mph.  This will allow travel from Madrid to Paris in about an hour, rather than 12 hours drive time.  There are at least ten hyperloop concept routes around the world conducting feasibility studies. They include some in the UK, US, India, Canada and Mexico. Hyperloop Standout in the Fast Lane The one hyperloop route that is ahead of the pact is the one between Pittsburgh, Columbus
