NASA's Perseverance Looking at Mars

Image
New, Spectacular Detailed Photos of the Red Planet                                                       Source:  NASA Mastcam-Z, Two Camera System on Mars NASA's Perseverance Mars rover is sending back first-of-a-kind, detailed pictures of Mars.  The images are coming from Perseverance's Mastcam-Z camera system.  It's part of the highly advanced technologies which NASA has built into the Perseverance rover Mars mission, which are creating a series of historic space firsts. Search For Ancient Life on Mars The pictures beaming back from Mars are being taken within the 28 mile wide Jezero Crater, where researchers say a river delta existed billions of years ago.  It is a very promising location to search for ancient microbial life on Mars.  Searching for ancient Martian life is a primary mission for Perseverance and the Mastcam-Z system serves as the technological eyes of the search. Highly Advanced Camera Technology Mastcam-Z is a two camera system that can zoom in, focus,

Beauty of Space Through NASA & Telescopes

Magnificent Space Images from Global Telescopes                                                   Source:  NASA Cosmic Delight Through Advanced Technology NASA has released a spectacular display of cosmic images from highly advanced telescopes positioned around the world and in space.  This is the universe seen through the prism of the latest technology - gamma rays, radio waves and infrared. The image above is that of the Cartwheel Galaxy.  It shows a small galaxy passing through a "bulls-eye" galaxy stretching more than 150,000 light years.  It was caught on tape by X-ray imaging from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory. Messier 82                                                       Source:  NASA This is another spectacular image.  The Messier 82 galaxy is pictured in X-rays and optical light using data from the Hubble Space Telescope and Chandra.  The galaxy is immense, spanning 20,000 light years.  Its formation is the result of repeated supernova explosions. JUPITER UNPRECEDENTED IMAGES: NASA INCREDIBLE TECH

Image
NASA Tech: Ground and Space Observations Source:  NASA - 6 cyclones on Jupiter Place in the Universe Where the Weather is Never Pleasant The image is one of the highest resolution, infrared views of the Planet Jupiter ever taken.  And, the view is simply  amazing.  Jupiter is lite up in huge thunder storms. This image is the result of the most highly advanced  space technology and the scientists behind it teaming up.  NASA's  Hubble Space Telescope, the Gemini Observatory in Hawaii and the Juno spacecraft came together to explore the fiercest storms in the solar system.  The location of some of the Universe's worst  weather is Jupiter, more than 500 million miles from Earth. It appears weather is never pleasant there. Stormy Weather A team of researchers led by U-CAL Berkeley's Michael Wong are using the images coming in to learn how Jupiter's turbulent atmosphere and weather work.  Storms are constant on Jupiter and much more powerful than on Earth.
