  World's 1st Dual-Mode Bus-Train                                       Source:  Japan's DMV New Innovation From Japan Japan is putting into operation the world's first dual-mode vehicle (DMV), which is a bus that converts into a train.  The DMV is capable of driving on the road with its standard set of rubber tires.  And when it reaches its railroad destination, it can deploy its steel wheels to travel as a train on the tracks in just 15 seconds.  This 2-in-1 vehicle combination is now in commercial operation in coastal southern Japan.  It is being operated by the Asa Coast Railway Company and it is a world first in travel innovation. Strand Craft V8 Daytona GT The jet ski is sleek and big:  17 feet long, 5 feet wide and it weighs 1,250 pounds.  It is powered by a supercharged 6.2 liter aluminum V8 engine.  Strand calls the watercraft "beautiful, powerful and luxurious...a model that marries power and speed to grace and elegance."  This concept took Strand five years to develop.   Slovakia's AirCar Takes First Intercity Flight                                                  Source:  KleinVision A Flying Car That Drives and Flies Slovakia's Klein Vision has made flying car history.  Its AirCar, a combination car and aircraft, has completed its first intercity flight in Slovakia.  The flight lasted 35 minutes.  Within two minutes and 15 seconds of landing, it converted into a sportscar and drove to Bratislava, Slovakia -- the destination in its journey from Nitra, Slovakia. Tech Specs The AirCar Prototype 1 is the invention of University of Munster Professor Stefan Klein and has been developed by his company Klein Vision.  Prototype 1 has a 160 horsepower fixed propeller engine and Prototype 2 will have a 300 horsepower engine.  AirCar has a range of 621 miles.  Top air speeds are 186 mph.  The aircraft can fly up to 600 miles at an altitude of 8,200 feet.  It runs on gasoline.
