Future of Solar Driving About to Enter the Global Market

The Aptera Sol solar/electric, 3 wheel car is close to entering the global automotive, zero emissions market.  It is expected to hit the road in late 2021 or early 2022.  The vehicle can operate on only power from the Sun.  It is super lightweight and highly efficient with an ultra futuristic design.  The San Diego based company, Aptera Motors, says the vehicle has a range of 1,000 miles.  For a normal, daily commute of 40 miles, the solar panel alone can provide most of the power to drive.  Aptera says the panels are designed to harvest enough sunlight to power over 11,000 miles a year in most regions. It is supplemented by electric charging to its battery.  It is a zero emissions, green vehicle on three wheels and it is the essence of breakthrough automotive innovation.

Look Inside the Solar EV

The interior of the vehicle is modern and spacious with a center console that contains a large infotainment screen. There is also plenty of cargo space. This is a highly engineered EV with advanced aerodynamic design.  The solar panel on Aptera Sol can produce 700 watts a day which provides 40 miles per day of free sun power to drive on.  In order to deliver  these tech specs, Sol is very lightweight and carries just 2 passengers.

Classified as a Motorcycle Vehicle

Because Sol has three wheels, it is classified as a motorcycle vehicle. That results in a less stringent set of safety standards and lower production costs and lower pricing.  The vehicle will launch in late 2021 or early 2022.  More than 10,000 have already been pre-ordered.  The starting price is $25,900 for a 250 mile range version.  The starting price for a 1.000 mile range version is $44,900.  Despite the classification safety standards, Aptera Motors says it has equipped the solar EV with superior safety equipment.  That includes advanced airbag technology, energy absorbing composite materials made of steel and aluminum and a Formula 1 inspired safety cell. This is one of the many exciting future of travel vehicles coming on line very soon.  It's a whole new travel future for you!
