Getting Ready to Take-off

Israel's electric aviation startup Eviation continues the development of what is expected to be a breakthrough all-electric passenger plane, Alice. Alice isn't on a drawing board.  The e-plane has 92 orders from regional US air carrier Cape Air that serves primarily the Northeast US, logistical giant DHL Express for a dozen aircraft and others.  Eviation expects to deliver its first aircrafts to first buyer Cape Air. The introduction to the market will be in 2023.  This is electric aviation to watch as the e-planes taxis for takeoff.

Alice

Alice was first unveiled as a concept in 2018 and it has undergone a series of big upgrades.  The latest is the cabin which is posh and fits right into the category of executive business travel.  There are panoramic windows, a wide passenger space with plush large seats, each with a power outlet and USB port.  And there are more than 100 cubic feet of baggage space for luggage, bikes, skis, golf clubs, plus. Of course, there is a kitchen galley, closets, lavs and more.

Zero Emissions Flying

The big differentiator about Alice is zero emissions flying.  The E-plane is powered by two magni650 electric propeller engines.  The range is 440 nautical miles and the cruising speed is 217 knots. It uses current battery cell technology, which the company says can easily be transitioned to future battery advancements.

Many Transportations Uses for Alice

Eviation has designed Alice to be a short-haul regional aircraft that accommodates 9 passengers and a two-person crew.  But, it can be ordered as a corporate business jet for 6 passengers, a regional commuter jet or as a cargo plane. All of the variations seem to build in a crew of two, right now.  Alice is a look at the very near future of zero emissions, electric green flying that is advancing toward takeoff.  To take a look at many more flying concepts, go to https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asin=B093J89VF5&preview=newtab&linkCode=kpe&ref_=cm_sw_r_kb_dp_KQ4QCRBDASDNVTTSXK8E
