Toothpaste Tubes & Environmental Pollution

New Invention:  Tablet Toothpaste "Change Toothpaste" Source:  Change Toothpaste Potentially Cuts 900 Million Plastic Toothpaste Tube Throwaways Per Year Tubes of toothpaste aren't something you think about but their impact on the global environment is hugely negative.  900 million toothpaste tubes are discarded into oceans and landfills globally every year.  Importantly, it takes 500 years for them to breakdown, which means virtually every toothpaste tube created is still discarded someplace in the world.  And, the tubes, which contain multiple layers of plastic, polymers and resins, can't be recycled.  A company headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta Canada just came up with a solution in the form of tablet toothpaste. "Paste with No Waste" Entrepreneurs Mike Medicoff and Damien Vince are the inventors and founders of CHANGE Toothpaste. Their tablet toothpaste is an all natural vegan substance that works just like toothpaste but has no harsh chemic

New Satellite Watching Amazon

China-Brazil Earth Observation Satellite Watching Amazon Rain Forest Source: Satellite Image of Amazon Fires Bi-lateral Cooperation to Help the Environment This is bilateral collaboration on a jointly developed satellite by Brazil and China, an earth observation satellite to monitor the Amazon Rain Forest. The sat was launched today and the Chinese-Brazil satellite development program relationship goes back to 1988.  The recent rainforest fires caused massive damage to the bio-diversity in the Amazon.  The hope is this highly advanced satellite system will monitor, protect and prevent such disasters.  For the Amazon, it seems like a little too late, but it's significant technology that could be very useful going forward for the Amazon and elsewhere globally. Innovation in Bilateral Sat Cooperation BRICS, standing for Brazil. Russia, India, China and South Africa, is the coalition of nations behind forwarding this satellite effort. It's an awesome effort pulling to

Electric Vehicle of Choice - Electric Bikes Big Selling Surge Forecast by Deloitte The 2020's will be the decade of electric vehicles.  But what may surprise you is that the biggest selling electric vehicle is going to be electric bikes not electric cars.  Just between 2020 and 2023, 130 million electric bikes will be sold globally, according to Deloitte, the global consulting company.  Deloitte also forecasts that the number of electric bikes on the road will outnumber other electric vehicles globally by end of 2020. What they are forecasting is a strong surge for e-bkes. E-Bike Riding It's been a slow sales climb for e-bikes.  For instance, in 2013, only 185,000 e-bikes were sold in the US.  Since then, there's been a seismic change that includes greater power, improved lithium ion batteries, greater tech and better pricing.  Plus, a focus by global cities and nations to cut carbon emissions, reduce car traffic and go for zero emissions as soon as possible.
