Italy's New Electric Bubble Car

  The Microlino 2.0                                             Source:  Microlino Italia Inexpensive, Micro, Urban Mobility At the IAA Mobility 2021 show in Munich, Microlino Italia unveiled its $14,000 electric bubble car - the Microlino 2.0.  The vehicle is headed into production in Italy and will be up for sale in Switzerland first.  It's expected to be offered throughout the European Union and if the micro car is successful, it is expected to launch in the US.  The Microlino 2.0 is a unique electric vehicle that offers inexpensive urban mobility with zero emissions. Maximum Range of 143 Miles The vehicle is a two seater with a small cargo space for shopping items.  It has a 56-hp motor.  There are three battery options: Urban with a 6 kWh battery and 60 mile range; Dolce with a 10.5 kWh battery and 109 mile range; and Competizioni with a 14 kWh battery and a range of 143 miles.  The vehicle's top speed is 56 mph.  Quite conveniently, the EV can be charged from a wall outle

  From the Netherlands, New Form of Zero Emissions Travel                                   Source: TU Eindhoven The Stella Vita Solar Camper The Solar Team from the Netherlands' TU Eindhoven have invented and built a solar house on wheels that they are taking on a 1,864 mile, zero emission ride through Europe to demonstrate its efficacy.  The fully solar powered electric vehicle is called the Stella Vita camper. Built by a team of 22 university students it has a 94 sq. foot solar array on the roof that harvests energy for the 60 kW lithium-ion battery. 100% Solar Powered Travel The Stella Vita can travel at 74.5 mph.  A fully charged battery on a sunny day provides 454 miles of daytime driving and 373 miles of driving at night. That adds up to more than 800 miles on a charge with zero emissions.  All of the EVs functions, including the electric powertrain, the kitchen, shower, appliances and lights are powered by the solar system alone.  The team says they don't expect to rely

  Electric Car is Built with Recycled Materials                                                             Source:  BMW i Vision Circular E-Car is Recycled When Its Use Is Over BMW is making a strong commitment to fully electric, sustainable auto-making.  It is promising that within 20 years, all of its vehicles will be made of recycled materials and at the end of their use, the vehicles will be recycled to create new vehicles.  To underscore the point,  BMW has unveiled a unique, 100% environmentally friendly electric car, called the i Vision Circular Concept.  BMW says the EV is "circular" to save the planet.  By 'circular" BMW is referring to the fact that the electric vehicle is built with totally recycled materials and when its use is over, it can be recycled to create a new car.  The Vision is a 4-seat hatchback concept that BMW says "looks ahead to a compact, all-electric car for 2040 that is squarely focused on sustainability and luxury.  The EV goes on
