Hyundai Teases New Performance EVs

  Possibly 3 New Hyundai N Electric Vehicles To Be Unveiled                                                                                              Source:  Hyundai Mystery Hyundai N Sporty, Hydrogen Powered Concept Car South Korean automotive giant Hyundai is doing a big tease on the future of its N Performance division with a big event and the unveiling of several new electric vehicles next week.  The Ioniq N5, Ioniq N6 and a mystery, likely hydrogen powered concept car are expected to take the spotlight. Hyundai just released several tease images of the vehicles.  The concepts are a showcase for the future range of Hyundai's electric lineup and their technologies. The EVs are also an electrifying departure for Hyundai N which has made a name for itself with turbocharged, 4-cylinder, combustion engine SUVs and hatchbacks. Tech Spec Experts believe that the electric powertrain, that will come in the new Ioniq N5 and Ioniq N6 models, will have a 77.4 kWh battery with 600 bhp.

  EV That's Being Called a "Knockout"                                                    Source:  Hyundai What Looks Like Hyundai's Newest Electric Winner Hyundai is on a roll right now.   Thanks to the Ioniq 5 SUV EV and the Kia EV 6 crossover (Hyundai owns Kia), Hyundai is now the 2nd biggest seller of EVs in the US.  Now, the South Korea based automotive giant  has just unveiled its new EV Ioniq 6 to rave reviews. One automotive expert called the upcoming 2024 Ioniq a "knockout".  The EV sedan debuts after Hyundai's wildly successful Ioniq 5, which is one of the brand's top new EVs.  The Ioniq 6 has very smooth lines and is sculptured for aerodynamic driving.  The design is being called the perfect combination of future and retro.  The curvaceous roof, shoulder and window lines taper into the vehicle's tail. It is reminiscent of the aerodynamic automotive styling of the 1920's and 1930's but with smooth, futuristic lines and details.

It is being tested and developed by Hyundai in their new facility called New Horizon Studio at the Montana State University Innovation Campus.  Hyundais' New Horizon Studio is also developing and producing a second vehicle, the autonomous TIGER with robotic legs.  This is a major initiative by Hyundai, which intends to invest $20 million and employ 50 people at the Studio to develop "Ultimate Mobility Vehicles".   Miami Becoming a Global Capital of Flying Taxis Flying Taxi Partnership Between Hyundai & Miami Hyundai's urban air mobility division, Supernal, has signed an agreement with the city of Miami to launch air taxi services in South Florida by 2028.  The agreement establishes a framework to win buy in from industry and community stakeholders in order to achieve the regulatory approvals needed to start air taxi services.   Strategic Flying Plan Supernal is a young startup, formed by Hyundai in November 2021. The agreement to start operations in Miami is their first air taxi deal. Supernal's strategic plan is to develop an air taxi network as an integrated component of an end-to-end ridesharing, app-based system. The company is currently developing their air taxi model with Boston Dynamics, HTWO and Motional.   MobED or Mobile Eccentric Droid                                                       Source:  Hyundai Incredible Piece of Robotic Technology For the first time since Hyundai took a controlling stake in global robotics leader Boston Dynamics, it has released a remarkable new robot.  It's a 4 wheeled robot called MobED for Mobile Eccentric Droid.  This droid is outstanding for its precision, maneuverability, mobility and stability.  It is capable of carrying precariously stacked champagne glasses up an incline.  Right now, it is designed to carry small objects but eventually it could be used to carry people.  MobED will make its official debut at the January 2022 CES show in Las Vegas at which time availability and price should be disclosed by Hyundai.   2 New EV Mega Manufacturing Plants in the US                         Source:  Ford New EV Plant & EV Trucks $11.4 Billion for Electrification Ford, along with South Korea's SK Innovation energy company, are investing $11.4 billion to build two, huge manufacturing facilities for electric vehicles in Kentucky and Tennessee.  Ford is partnering with SK on the development and manufacturing of much less expensive lithium-ion batteries to bring down the price of Ford electric vehicles and make them much more affordable to the average consumer.  Ford is investing $7 billion in the project.  SK is investing $4.4 billion. That is the biggest manufacturing investment in Ford's 118 year history.  The projects will create 11,000 new US jobs and the facilities are expected to be up and running by 2025.
