  Dodge's New eMuscle Car                                                                           Source:  Dodge "So Brilliant, it's Shocking"  Historic muscle car maker, Dodge, is producing its first electric vehicle.  It's an electric muscle car called the 2025 Dodge eMuscle and its roots are deeply entrenched in Dodge's muscle car heritage.  With iconic, gas-guzzling models like the Challenger, the Charger, the Hellcat and the Demon in its history, Dodge is now beginning the brand's transition to the electrified, rechargeable, zero-emissions world of EVs.  The eMuscle, with all of its e-muscle sound, fury and 900 hp, will hit global markets in 2025.  Dodge is owned by Stellantis (Chrysler-Fiat).   New Highly Advanced Technology Replaces Traditional Brakes                                             Source:  DS Automobiles Future of Driving Imagine driving a car with no traditional brakes!  New technology called electric motor regeneration is enabling just that. In Paris, luxury automaker DS Automobiles, owned by Chrysler parent company Stellantis, has designed a highly advanced, electric car without conventional brakes.  Called the E-Tense concept, the electric vehicle is very powerful and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in two seconds.  It showcases the future of cars with no brakes. The car brakes and is stopped by using electric motor regeneration, a new technology that DS is deploying in its Formula E race car, the DS E-Tense Performance.  The system uses two onboard electric motors to slow the vehicle through regenerative braking and charges the EV in the process when stopping.   Dodge Hornet Hybrid Plug-In to Be Unveiled in August                                                       Source:  Dodge Stellantis' Dodge Electrifies its Lineup Dodge, now owned by Chrysler's parent company Stellantis, is launching a new version of its iconic Hornet, which dates back to the 1950's as the Hudson and AMC Hornet. The Hornet was a legendary muscle car. The new Hornet will be unveiled in August 2022 as a compact, hybrid electric plug-in SUV. The 23-foot Hornet will be offered with a 256 hp 2.0-liter turbocharged, 4-cylinder engine or a plug-in hybrid Q4 variant that pairs a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with an electric motor. Like its predecessors, the vehicle will come with plenty of sass and attitude in the styling and design. Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis made the announcement at the Stellantis annual EV Day event.  According to computer renderings of the upcoming vehicle, it is a car not an SUV.  And the four wheel car design is intriguingly reminiscent of the iconic Dodge Charger of the late 1960's.  The tires are big, beefy and wide.  The front of the retro styled coupe appears to have a LED light bar with a lighted emblem in the center.
