  D A ILY INNOVATION BRIEF                By Journalists Edward Kane & Marya nne Kane VOLTAERO E-HYBRID PLANE FLIES ON WINE & MAKES AVIATION HISTORY Source:  VOLT AERO VoltAero has developed an electric-hybrid plane  that flies on biofuel produced from wine waste.  Their aircraft Cassio S just made aviation history.  Here's what we know: France-based VoltAero just achieved the world's 1st flight of an electric-hybrid plane powered by 100% sustainable fuel from vineyard wine waste The Cassio S testbed plane has a proprietary electric hybrid powertrain The fuel is 100% sustainable and produced by France's TotalEnergies The historic flight used the hybrid powertrain's electric mode and its internal combustion engine was fueled by bioethanol produced from wine The company says it flew with an 80% CO2 reduction The milestone flight is a major advancement for the use of SAF or sustainable aviation fuel/biofuels in general aviation First production aircraft will be the

  D A ILY INNOVATION BRIEF                By Journalists Edward Kane & Marya nne Kane AI CREATING PICTURE PERFECT IMAGES                                                                      Source:  Open AI DALL-E 3 Open AI's DALL-E 3 image generator is pushing the limits of image creation and is being called by experts cutting edge with incredible precision, detailing and artistry.  Here's what we know: It's a Generative AI enabled text-to-image generator based on new AI image synthesis model Can be controlled & operated by the person using text prompts or by asking ChatGPT to do the prompts for them New system is more conversational It can generate an image and then create a story around the generated image Will be available in early October to ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise customers No date on full public release It's currently in research preview Will be a fully integrated ChatGPT feature Trained on millions of images created by human artists and photographers

Here's what we know: Suzuki has formed a 100%-owned subsidiary with SkyDrive to manufacture their eVTOL flying taxi SD-05 in Japan starting in spring 2024 Orders for this 3-seat, all-electric, vertical takeoff and landing air taxi are pouring in:  110 orders from Vietnam, 50 orders from South Korea and 5 vehicles ordered by a South Carolina-based company Vehicle is called SD-05 and has a patented rotor design Carries 3 people, including the pilot Maximum weight it can carry is 3100 pounds Range is 9 miles Designed for short-haul trips as a flying taxi Top speed is 62 mph Operation
