ELON MUSK LAUNCHES HIS OWN AI

  • Tesla, SpaceX and X(Twitter) Chairman/CEO Elon Musk today is launching his first AI product to a select group of customers.  Here's what we know:
  • Musk calls his AI "the best that currently exists."
  • Says it will be "pro-humanity" and will be "good AI"
  • His AI company is called xAI
  • It will work closely with his other companies, including Tesla and X
  • Musk wants to make his social media company X all AI-based
  • Musk says it will take a while before his AI software catches up to Google and Open AI
  • He predicts that AI will reach the superintelligence level in 5 to 6 years, which is faster than most experts have forecasted.
  • Interestingly Musk wanted regulatory authorities to put AI development into pause to allow ethical guidelines and standards to be established.
  • AI has been developing too quickly globally to be corralled by any type of legal pause and now, the world's richest man is rolling out his own line of AI products.

  • Experts, including from Oxford University, have taken a look at how long it will take AI robots to take over particular jobs.  Here are some key facts:
  • Elon Musk has said AI will eventually mean that no one works
  • Nurses and teachers are safe for now
  • Builders and cleaners could be the first to go
  • Customer service and telemarketers are already being replaced
  • Jobs at risk during the next ten years include journalists, waiters, builders and hairdressers
  • Among the jobs most at risk: 
  1. Agricultural product workers
  2. Janitors and maids
  3. Food prep, dining and bartending workers
  • Among the jobs least at risk:
  1. Preventive medicine physicians and surgeons
  2. Mathematicians
  3. Physicists
  4. Chief Executives.

WORLD'S 1ST COMMERCIAL SPACEPLANE CAPABLE OF ORBITAL FLIGHT

  • NASA is scheduled to start testing a first-of-its kind spaceplane that can go into orbital flight.  Some key facts:
  1. Colorado-based Sierra Space has developed the world's 1st commercial spaceplane capable of orbital flight
  2. Named Tenacity and part of the Dream Chaser line
  3. Will provide supplies and transport to the International Space Station
  4. Provides NASA with an alternative to SpaceX spacecrafts
  5. If testing goes well, its first trip to space will be in April 2024
  6. Planes has foldable wings so it can fit inside of a rocket for launching.

It enjoyed a long history of creating iconic MG, 2 seat sports cars.
