TESLA IS CREATING WORLD'S FASTEST ACCELERATING CAR

  • Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk disclosed on Twitter that he intends to deliver a new Tesla Roadster that can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 1 second. That would be a world record!  Big question:  Is that possible?
  • Some automakers including Bugatti and Rimac have done computer simulations and say it is possible
  • It likely would require thrusters on the car, which Musk has talked about in the past
  • Thrusters present their own challenges including the weight and drag on range they would pose for an electric car
  • Musk isn't disclosing how he's going to do it
  • Rimac Nevera holds the current acceleration record of 1.7 seconds
  • The 2nd generation Roadster will be unveiled later this year.
  • Tesla says the top speed will be 250 mph
  • Range will be 620 miles
  • Before Musk's latest remarks, Tesla was aiming for 0 to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds
  • Tesla hopes to start delivering the next-G Roadster to customers in 2025
  • It could be the fastest accelerating car on the road!
WHISPER AERO'S ULTRAQUIET ELECTRIC JETLINER

  • Tennessee-based Whisper Aero has just unveiled its 100 seat, battery electric, commercial airliner.  Here are some key facts:
  • The concept, called Whisper Jetliner, has been submitted to NASA for further development under its new NASA program for zero emissions flying
  • e-plane has 22 electric ducted fans integrated into the wings to provide upper surface blowing, increasing the lift
  • Has outboard horizontal tail configuration
  • It's ultraquiet and ultraefficient
  • Aims to provide net zero emissions aviation
  • Cruising speed is Mach .78
  • Has a range of 770 miles
  • Has nearly 2,000 pounds of thrust
  • Gross weight is 160,000 pounds
  • Range of approximately 770 miles
  • This new aviation technology could be an important step toward net zero aviation
  • Whisper also recently unveiled its regional e-plane concept Whisper Jet.

  China's SAIC Revolutionizes the Historic British MG Brand                                              Source:  MG Cyberster Electric MG Sport Car Concept Becomes a Reality The legendary sports car company MG was founded in the 1920's in Oxford, England. It enjoyed a long history of creating iconic MG, 2 seat sports cars.
