TOYOTA'S NEW MOTORSPORTS-BRED LEXUS SPORTS CAR

  • Toyota's exciting, next-generation, GT3 race car is destined to become a Lexus sports car in 2026
  • The race car will debut at the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) along with the Lexus motorsports-bred road car
  • Lexus has been teasing an electric supercar concept very similar in style and proportions to the GT3
  • GT3 is the 1st Toyota entry into the GT3 market in a decade
  • It has a dramatic front engine and rear-wheel drive configuration with a long, low hood and truncated angled rear: a low-slung coupe with a massive carbon fiber rear wing
  • Concerning the Lexus sportscar concept:  it's electric with a 435 mile range and accelerates 0 to 60 mpg in 2 seconds
  • Auto enthusiasts can't wait to see the actual Lexus GT3 sports car inspired by the race car that will hit the track at the Le Mans 24 Hour and 2026 FIA WEC.

FLYING AT HYPERSONIC SPEEDS ON HYDROGEN FUEL

  • At the 2023 Paris Air Show, European aerospace start-up Destinus unveiled its 3rd-generation demonstrator plane Destinus 3
  • Their goal:  a hypersonic commercial passenger plane fueled by hydrogen
  • Target Date for Operations:  2030
  • Power:  Hydrogen
  • Speed:  hypersonic with flight time from Frankfurt to Shanghai less than 3 hours
  • Cruise speed:  Mach 5
  • Engines:  turbojet capable of subsonic, supersonic speeds plus an afterburner for additional thrust
  • Passengers:  25
  • Next New Plane Prototype:  Destinus L, capable Mach 6 & carrying 400 passengers
  • Flight testing:  2024.

SUN & FUN ON SOLAR ROLLER COASTER

  • At Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA, the roller coasters and other thrill rides will be powered by the sun
  • Six Flags is turning a 30-acre parking lot into a solar farm with construction done by the end of this year
  • The 12-megawatt solar carport energy structure being built will also provide shade to cars parked there in what are usually sizzling temperatures
  • The solar structure will provide enough energy to power Six Flags, all of its rides and cover 100% of the Park's power needs
  • According to Six Flags, this is the world's largest renewable energy site built by a for-profit
  • It's also California's largest solar energy project which will produce 7900 kWh of power per day and 20.8 million kWh per year, which is equal to yearly electricity used by 2900 homes
  • Six Flags is also doing solar projects at Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, CA and Great Adventure in New Jersey
  • Six Flags is investing in kids' sustainable, green energy future by powering their favorite thrill rides by the sun.

  China's SAIC Revolutionizes the Historic British MG Brand                                              Source:  MG Cyberster Electric MG Sport Car Concept Becomes a Reality The legendary sports car company MG was founded in the 1920's in Oxford, England. It enjoyed a long history of creating iconic MG, 2 seat sports cars.
