  • In the US and Europe this summer, sweltering heatwaves with temperatures and humidity pushing historic records are making work life unbearable for millions
  • Experts are saying conditions are so uncomfortable that working hours may have to be adjusted to help people cope with future heatwaves
  • They're suggesting forget about 9 to 5; 6AM to 2 PM would work better and scrap the full suits and ties
  • New research from the UK's prestigious Oxford University finds that Britain, like Spain, may have to start the workday at earlier hours
  • The Oxford researchers urge "immediate and unprecedented actions are needed" on workday schedules and habits
  • The UK, Switzerland and Norway need to do something now because their office buildings are designed to retain heat and are overheating in heatwaves like the current Cerebus heat wave sweeping through Europe
  • They point to Japan, which is now allowing its workers to ditch the suit and tie in excessively hot weather
  • In the US, there are informal guidelines for employers from the US Labor Department to encourage workers to drink water frequently and take occasional brakes in cool places but no formal recommendations on adjusting workhours, at least until now, as Climate Change impacts even our basic work routines.

  • Ferrari calls it "radical and untethered from constraints"

  1. Design - sleek, highly aerodynamic, butterfly doors
  2. Twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 engine
  3. 591 hp (at least)
  4. 516 pound-feet of torque (at least)
  5. Electronically controlled, movable panels along the flanks to optimize aerodynamics
  6. Huge, removeable rear wing
  7. Huge diffuser at the rear of car
  8. 3 screens instead of rearview mirrors
  • This one-of-a-kind, unique Ferrari has already been purchased for an undisclosed price.

SWITZERLAND TO ITALY BY CABLE CAR OVER ALPS

  • For the 1st time, non-skiers can traverse high above the Alps by cable car to travel from Switzerland to Italy
  • The new service began near to one of the world's most famous peaks in the Alps, the Matterhorn, this weekend
  • Some key facts:
  • It's the highest altitude border crossing in Europe 
  • Links Klein Matterhorn Cable Car Station in Switzerland at 12,467-feet with Testa Grigea, Italy at 11,345-ttfeet
  • Initial cable car trip oner Theodul Glacier takes 4 minutes
  • Trip from Zermott, Switzerland to Cervinia, Italy takes several cable car rides for an hour

Electric, New MG Cyberster Sports Car

  China's SAIC Revolutionizes the Historic British MG Brand                                              Source:  MG Cyberster Electric MG Sport Car Concept Becomes a Reality The legendary sports car company MG was founded in the 1920's in Oxford, England. It enjoyed a long history of creating iconic MG, 2 seat sports cars. It is now China owned and China based, acquired a few years ago by SAIC Motors.  The new MG has a fabulous concept car the Cyberster.  It's an all electric sports car that was recently introduced at the Shanghai 2021 Motor Show.  MG just announced the vehicle is going from concept and into production.  MG calls it the "world's first purely electric e-sports cockpit".  The design of this electric vehicle is sleek, futuristic and highly styled with a wide grill that is a throwback to the original MGB as are the round headlights that open like eyes when the car is turned on.  It is truly an iconic, all electric sports car.
