  Corvette's 2024 E-Ray                                                  Source:  Corvette 0 to 60 MPH in 2.5 Seconds After 70 years of making cars, Corvette has unveiled its fastest car ever and it's hybrid electric, the 2024 Corvette E-Ray.  Here are the pertinent facts on the E-Ray: Capable of 0 to 60 mph in 25 seconds Can hit speeds of 130 mph E-Ray brings hybrid power and AWD for the first time to the Corvette line Does a quarter mile at 130 mph in 10.5 seconds Powertrain is 6.2L V8 hybrid paired with LT 2 160 hp electric motor 8-speed dual clutch transmission All wheel drive Total of 655 hp through the powertrain with 495 hp going to the back wheels Available as a convertible or coupe Torque of 470 lb-ft (V8) and 125 lb-ft (electric motor) Hybrid engine relies on regenerative braking and surplus engine power to recharge the battery Battery is small with 1.9 kWh capacity Pricing starts at $104,295.

  Z06 is Being Called the American Ferrari Plus                                                       Source:  Corvette Very Powerful, Stylish Vette Automotive experts are calling the new, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 an unbelievably awesome sports car. The drive is smooth at any speed, the styling is spectacular, and the interior is said to be the best that Corvette has ever offered.  One automotive magazine called it a thriller on the road and a killer on the racetrack.  Another magazine called it the "American Ferrari Plus".  What distinguishes this newest version of the iconic Corvette is its new, unique engine, which helps make it the most technically advanced Vette on the market.  Tech Specs The iconic, American sport cars is being built on a mid-engine platform.  Chevy executives say that the car's brand new, 670-hp, 5.5-liter V-8 engine makes the mid-engine architecture shine spectacularly.  It cranks out a hefty 460 lb-fit of torque at 6,300 rpm.  The vehicle can accel

  2023 All-Electric Corvette                                             Source: Chevrolet Corvette Hybrid Electric Corvette As Early As This Year  The iconic muscle car, the Chevrolet Corvette, is officially going electric.  According to Chevrolet President Mark Reuss, a fully electric Vett will be in showrooms in 2023 and a hybrid electric version will be on the market much sooner, possibly this year.  It appears the hybrid could be a Vett first with front-wheel or all-wheel drive.  To date, all Corvettes have had rear-wheel drive. Electrifying Vetts Reuss indicates the hybrid model will be based on the current generation Vett design and style.  The all-electric version could be a totally new design.  There also could be what Reuss is calling "electrified variants" of the car.  Most EVs currently on the market are sedans and SUVs because the current generation of batteries optimize the performance of larger, heavier cars more so than that of sports cars.  However, with new

  Powerful Vehicle But With Less Emissions Source:  GM & Corvette E-Ray Expected to Debut in 2023 GM's iconic sports car, the Corvette, is about to roll out its first, electrified model.  GM is working on a plug-in hybrid version of the C8 Vette called the E-Ray.  The next-G Vette has a radical design shift with a mid-engine layout.  Automotive reports indicate the hybrid powertrain will generate a powerful punch of 650 horsepower.  The EV is expected to debut in 2023. Tech Specs & More Firsts The new Vette pairs a 6.2 liter LT2 V-8 engine with an e-booster electric motor on the front axle.  The e-Ray won't produce any emissions until it is travelling over 35 mph.  For the first time in Corvette's history, the vehicle will have four-wheel drive.  Automotive experts say that the ability to send power to both axles should improve the car's performance even further.  Interestingly, GM is making no comment about this greatly anticipated new vehicle.
