  • MG just unveiled its MG EXE181 hypercar designed to pay homage to MG's 100-year past and lead the fabled sports car brand to an ultra-aerodynamic electric future.  Here are some key facts:
  • EXE181 is a tribute to the "Roaring Raindrop", the original 1957 MG EX181 that broke the then existing speed record for race cars of 255 mph
  • The new concept can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 1.9 seconds
  • It's all-electric
  • Expected to travel at 255 mph plus
  • Single seat for the driver positioned in the center
  • Ultra aerodynamic with a drag coefficient of 0.181
  • No performance details released yet but experts think it's likely to be in the 1,000 to 2,000 hp range
  • Dramatic new design with a transparent cover for the roof, windshield and fascia
  • No apparent doors
  • Teardrop side profile
  • Will be fully unveiled at the upcoming Auto China 2024 show
  • MG is owned by China's SAIC automotive group
  • As you can see from the images, this is not just a sports car but a dramatic work of automotive art.

  • A Rice University team of scientists will analyze 30 years' worth of evidence of alien abduction cases.  Here's what we know:
  • Evidence to be studied by experts:  photos, slides, personal journals, notes and more
  • Important cases:
  1. Betty and Barney Hill case.  Well-publicized New Hampshire couple claimed to have been abducted in 1961 while driving up a mountain. A psychiatrist/hypnotist helped them remember their experiences of walking into a flying alien object and seeing grey skinned aliens.
  2. Two fishermen in Mississippi claimed abduction by aliens while fishing in 1973.  Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker both had strange puncture wounds in their arms from the experience.  Both men passed polygraph tests on the experience.
  3. The case of Travers Walton.  Arizona forestry worker Travis Walton ran toward a light he spotted in the sky and disappeared in front of 6 workers.  He re-emerged 5 days later to recount a story of alien abduction.

  • Upshot:  Over 100 cases of alien abduction will be analyzed by the experts with 30 years' worth of evidence -- seem like cases for the redoubtable Sherlock Holmes.
