WORLD'S FIRST HUMAN-WHALE CONVERSATION

  • A team of scientists from SETI, University of California Davis and the Alaska Whale Foundation say they've had the world's 1st human conversation with a humpback whale.  Here's what we know:
  • Whales are highly intelligent, huge and very complex animals
  • They make groans, whoops, thrup noises, sing lengthy songs and are rhythmic
  • They speak a complex, elusive language, until now with this new research
  • Scientists recorded humpback whales and played the recordings to other whales with an underwater speaker
  • One female, named Twain, heard the recording, then mimicked it for 20 minutes and kept circling the boat that was the source of the recording
  • Twain also repeatedly responded to the whales' recorded greeting calls & matched the time they took to respond multiple times, all triggered by the scientists to communicate with her and get her responses 
  • SETI is a group of scientists that are part of the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute
  • Research scientists believe this is the first communications exchange between humans and humpback whales in the whale's own language
  • SETI is hoping to use their findings from non-human communications systems, specifically being able to communicate with whales, and apply it to extraterrestrial signals to communicate with other forms of life if they exist someplace in space
  • The team consider Twain, a behemoth so responsive and smart, an extraordinary non-human aquatic intelligence.

  1. It's a rolling air purifier with a catalytic converter that purifies the air outside it as it drives along
  2. Level 4 autonomous SAE driving system that can self-park and is designed for those with less mobility
  3. Equipped with AI that prioritizes driver and passenger comfort
  4. Based on the driver's emotional state, AI personalizes the car interior with lighting, music & scent
  5. Cockpit of the future with steering wheel & human interaction for driving
  6. Specialized, reactive driver's seat with special air bags to maximize comfort and also keep the driver alert, including by AI conversations with the driver
  • The LQ is Toyota's vision of driving and of its own future.

  China's SAIC Revolutionizes the Historic British MG Brand                                              Source:  MG Cyberster Electric MG Sport Car Concept Becomes a Reality The legendary sports car company MG was founded in the 1920's in Oxford, England. It enjoyed a long history of creating iconic MG, 2 seat sports cars.
