D A ILY INNOVATION BRIEF                By Journalists Edward Kane & Maryanne Kane SCIENCE MATCHING THE RIGHT WINE WITH THE RIGHT FLOWERS                                                                                           Source:  Stock Scientists, noting that flowers can enhance the flavor of wine, have created the world's first guide that matches wine with flowers to maximize the tasting experience Here's what we know: Recent scientific research by British scientists has found that the right type of flowers on the table can change the perception of the wine The study demonstrated that a harsh wine sipped while looking at delicate flowers was rated by drinkers as less harsh and mild Scientists surmise that the sight of delicate flowers makes the wine taste delicate Here are some wine and flower matches for best results: Cabernet Sauvignon and light pink Calle Lilies Pinot Noir and red roses Sauvignon Blanc and pale pink carnations Merlot and Lady Jane Grey heirloom

Unusual Cloud Over North Pole

Electric Blue Clouds Spotted by NASA AIM Spacecraft Source:  NASA Noctilucent Clouds Noctilucent Clouds At Extremely High Altitudes The image just released by NASA is spectacular.  They show Noctilucent clouds, which are clouds that appear in the very high atmosphere during twilight in the hour after sunset.  The clouds continue to reflect light even though the sun is below the horizon for those of us on the ground, Climate Change NASA says this rare phenomena has been increasing in the past ten years.  They add the likely cause is Climate Change which has increased the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere.  The new image, obtained by several satellite passes, shows reflectivity measurements gathered by NASA's Aeronomy on Ice in the Mesophere (AIM) spacecraft mission, as light from the clouds bounce back into space. Light Show From Space The season for Noctilucent clouds lasts from late May until August.  NASA explains that as the earth's lower atmosphere warm

Global Warming's New Ocean at North Pole

Image
North Pole Battle Zone It sits on the top of the world at the North Pole.  It's a brand new ocean that's just been discovered. It's the result of global warming.  Over the past 30 years, the Artic has melted 2 times as fast as the rest of the world.  And the melting caused by Climate Change has spawned a new ocean.  And, so quickly, it's the object of international battles for ownership and oil, gas and mineral development. Investment and Development Rights Battle 5 Artic nations are fighting for ownership. The stakes are huge.  As much as 90 billion gallons of oil and 47 trilllion cubic meters of natural gas are at stake, according to the Royal Institute of International Affairs.  Plus, there's a trillion dollars worth of minerals like gold, platinum and titanium. The technological and infrastructure investment to explore and develop the polar ocean is massive. Global Warming Has Opened Access Incredibly, global warming has opened access to this hidden o
