Genesis GV80 2020 Source:  Hyundai Available in South Korea, Coming to US Hyundai's Genesis GV80 is the South Korean automaker's first luxury SUV.  Of great interest, it has an advanced augmented reality navigation system with displays to help the driver better understand the road.  The vehicle has concept car styling and a 14.5 inch infotainment screen. It's available in South Korea and will be coming to the US this summer. Loaded with Advanced Technology The GV80 has three rows of seats and is loaded with technology including a new system that detects driver drowsiness or inattention behind the wheel.  It also has a handwriting recognition interface and advanced safety features.  It packs a 3.0-litre turbocharged, 6 cylinder, diesel engine.  When it reaches the US, gas engine options will be available. Tesla, GM, Ford Charging Ahead with E-Pickups Source:  Tesla Big SUV and Pickup Truck Green Driving Big news.  Tesla's all electric Cybertruck has picked up 200,000 orders in the three days following its launch in Los Angeles.  That's a big deal.  People love the sleek armored truck look and power of the electric muscle truck that is Tesla CEO Elon Musk's pet project.  Engineer Musk made the truck of the same steel he uses at Space X for his rockets. Buyers apparently forgave the faux paus of the bullet proof windows shattering twice when hit by a metallic ball at its debut.  Production on Cybertruck starts in two years.  Prices start at $40,000 and the vehicle has a battery range on the top class model of 500 miles.  Musk has some time to work on the shattered glass of the shatterproof windows. Ford Ponies Up Its Latest Mustang that Electric Source:  Ford Motor Company Fully Electric, Mustang SUV As we promised in an earlier blog, here's the new Ford Mustang. Ford just unveiled its long awaited, brand new Mustang.  Mach-E, the Mustang inspired vehicle, is a fully electric SUV.  Ford is taking reservations now - a $500 deposit is required - but, you'll have to wait awhile for delivery.  Ford says production will start on the Mach-E at a Ford facility in Mexico in the 4th quarter of 2020. Sleek, Green Vehicle with Performance The Mach-E is a 5-passenger crossover electric SUV with style and performance inspired by the original Mustang.  The Mustang is an iconic vehicle, treasured by many, that dates back to the 1960's. Iconic Mustang Brand Going Electric as SUV Source:  Ford The Mach E Ford just announced, on the eve of the Los Angeles Auto Show, a big entry into the electric vehicle global war.  Ford's 1st all electric SUV is called the Mach E and it's a Mustang. Ford says it's designed on the Mustang and not just named after it. Mustang is one of Ford's most successful brands and it goes back to the 1960's.  The Mustang was a groundbreaking design that provided iconic styling, sportsmanship and affordability.  The last time a new version of the Mustang was produced goes back to 1964. Preview for the electric Mustang SUV is Sunday. China is Top Exhibitor at Frankfurt Auto Show Source:  FAW's Hungqi S9 Trending Technology on Display China has a very high profile at the world's largest auto show, The 2019 Frankfurt International Auto Show, now underway in Germany. 79 Chinese automakers are exhibiting their latest concept cars and new vehicles, making them the top exhibitor at Frankfurt.  Some of their new technology is fascinating, leading edge and trending. The Hungqi S9 This concept vehicle has the wings of butterflies, converted into butterfly doors.  It's a super sports car with maximum speeds of 400 km/h and a V8T hybrid engine system with a maximum of 1400 horsepower. Hungqi is part of the FAW Group, China's leading automaker.  It also unveiled an electric SUV concept, the E115.  This is the first time in 60 years that Hungqi has participated in an international auto show. One of Most Striking Vehicles at NY International Auto Show Source:  Kia HabaNiroAdd caption Butterfly Folding Doors The vehicle is called the HabaNiro.  It's an electric crossover concept created by Kia.  The South Korean automaker says the futuristic car is the automotive equivalent of a Swiss Army knife , versatile and for just about everyone. The Everyone, Everything Vehicle Kia says they've designed this for city dwellers, off-roaders, drivers concerned about the environment and driving enthusiasts. It can even serve as a self-driving vehicle.  They call it the "Everything Car Electric Vehicle" with the design, engineering and technology people want to move around in, in the near future. Compact SUV with Unusual Doors HabaNiro is a 4-seater, high riding hatchback, compact SUV.  What really stands out are the double, butterfly door openings.  Also, the fighter pilot-like steering wheel and the instrument panel that spans across the front dashboard.

Byton M-Byte All-Electric SUV Source:  Byton's M-Byte German-based Electric Car Startup Byton Byton's all electric SUV the M-Byte has just been unveiled and the German innovation company says it will be available by mid-2019 in the US.  This SUV is loaded with innovation that includes artificial intelligence, 5G, total connectivity, and a 48 inch display that's the width of the vehicle Driving and Totally Connected Byton is rolling out two all-electric models this year.  The entry level has a 250 mile range on one charge and starts at $45,000.  The second model has a bigger battery, bigger price tag and a range of 320 miles on one charge.  This is the first vehicle in the world that can provide full connectivity while driving.  It has built-in 5G and multiple antennas.
