  • Warner Music made history with a record deal with Noonoouri, a metaverse avatar pop star
  • Here's what we know:
  1. She's the first virtual pop star to sign a record deal
  2. She was created in 2018 by German graphic designer Joerg Zuber as an 18-year-old metaverse avatar
  3. The record deal is said to be a potentially game changing moment in the record industry
  4. Noonoouri has quite a resume that includes Dior, Balenciaga and Valentino fashion campaigns
  5. She's wracked-up 400,000 followers on Instagram and 60,000 views on Yahoo
  6. Her debut track is called "Dominoes"
  7. AI assisted technology created her singing voice 
  8. Human songwriter and musicians wrote and recorded her first track
  9. Generative AI created her voice by taking a real human singer and modifying her voice to make it unique
  10. Warner has taken criticism for portraying Noonoouri as a young girl in scanty outfits
  11. The big question:  will Noonoouri and other fellow avatars take real pop star jobs??


GOOGLE MAPS TAKE ON CLIMATE CHANGE

  • Climate Change has triggered new global temperature records this summer and Google Maps is incorporating a series of new CC data features to help users navigate our rapidly changing environment
  • Here's what we know:
  1. Google Maps is tapping into highly advanced AI and data tools for new Climate Change related features to help users, including businesses, navigate our changing climate with more efficiency and pro-actively plan for it
  2. New features include new data on air quality, pollution and solar intensity
  3. Google is pulling in and distilling massive amounts of CC-related data from government, sensors, weather services, satellites, traffic sensors and more to provide these new services
  4. Google is providing APIs or Application Program Interfaces to give developers more access to data on air quality, pollution, pollen counts, extreme weather
  5. The APIs will help users design tools that address hyperlocal questions like whether the person will need an asthma inhaler 
  6. Google's new Air Quality API provides air quality alerts
  7. Google's new Solar API has a number of uses, including displaying the amount of sunlight a structure is getting in order to maximize power savings
  8. The Pollen API feature uses an AI predictive model to enable the user to avoid areas of high pollen concentration
  • With these new features, Google is smartly addressing people's growing needs to adapt to Climate Change and move through the world with fewer CC-related hassles.
