FLYING CAR ROCKS THE DETROIT AUTO SHOW

  • Alef Aeronautics just pulled in unprecedented crowds at the Detroit Auto Show as it unveiled its flying-driving car, Model A prototype.  It could be flying and driving in 2025. Here's what we know:
  1. California-based flying car company Alef Aeronautics is proving to be one of the biggest contenders in the global flying car market
  2. Unusually large crowds gathered at the Detroit Auto Show to see the UFO-like, 2-seat flying car in its first public debut
  3. Alef plans to have the flying car in the sky and on the highway in 2025
  4. Alef has 2800 orders for the vehicle
  5. It's backed by 18 big investors, including early Tesla investor Tim Draper
  6. Some specs on the flying car:
  • 4 tires, each with its own motor for driving
  • 8 propellers, each with independent software controlled electric propulsion to fly
  • Similar in size to a SUV that fits into standard parking spot and garage
  • Range of 200 miles on the road and 110 miles in flight
  • Tri-Mode model that can drive, take-off vertically and fly forward
  • Takes 15 minutes to learn how to operate
  • Priced at $300,000.
  • Company is working on hydrogen powered model to extend the range
  • Alef is one of a very few flying cars, including Klein Vision AirCar and Pal-V Liberty, that are very close to going into full commercial production.

CHATGPT CAN NOW SEE, HEAR & TALK

  • AI is accelerating in functionality and utilization in leaps and bounds.  Open AI's ChatGPT is now enabled to see, hear and talk to you.  Here's what we know:
  1. Open AI's ChatGPT is driving new innovations in generative AI with its new capabilities to see images, hear your words and converse with you
  2. The driving purpose is to make ChatGPT more intuitive and conversational in interacting with humans
  3. GPT-3.5 & GPT-4AI are being configured to be able to analyze images and react to them as part of a text conversation
  4. ChatGPT mobile app will add options to enable full conversations with the AI assistant
  5. These revolutionary new features will be rolled out to Plus and Enterprise subscribers
  6. Users can select an option for voice conversations with the system and choose 1 of 5 voices to converse with
  7. What we're witnessing is the rapid evolution in the sophisticated usefulness of generative AI, which seems to be boundless.


NISSAN'S NEW EV - IDEAL CITY CAR

  • Nissan is previewing an all-electric sporty concept car that it considers an ideal city car.  Here's what we know:
  1. It's an EV hatchback called the concept 20-23
  2. Targeting the European market, it was designed by the London design team
  3. It's said to preview Nissan's all-electric future for Europe
  4. To support it and other EVs, Nissan plans to reduce battery costs by 65% by 2028
  5. Nissan also plans to launch solid-state batteries in their vehicles to reduce charging times by 33% as well as reduce costs
  6. Nissan plans to go all-electric in Europe by 2030.
