Production of the buggy ended in 1971.  But the epic vehicle has recently been resurrected by venture capitalist and car afficionado Phillip Sarofim.  He just unveiled the first new model of the dune buggy in nearly 60 years.  It's called the Meyers Manx 2.0 Electric and it will officially be introduced at Monterey Car Week later in August in California.
