Here are some key facts: Called Green Volt wind farm To be located off the coast of Scotland in Aberdeen Bay World's largest offshore wind farm 35 wind turbines Will generate 560 MW of renewable energy Will replace gas and diesel that currently power oil drilling operations in the area Some renewable energy will go back to the grid to power homes in Scotland It's double the size of the world's 2nd largest offshore wind farm off Norway This is a multi-billion dollar JV project between Scotland's Flotation Energy and Norway's Vargronn Britain is currently in the process of converting its oil and gas rigs to power from renewable energy.
