  • British humanoid robot Ameca can do remarkable things, including spot-on impressions of Donald Trump, Elon Musk and actor Morgan Freeman. This is robotics at the cutting-edge.  Here are some key facts:
  • Created by Cornwall, England-based Engineered Arts and co-founder CEO Will Jackson
  • Company calls Ameca the world's most advanced humanoid robot for human-robot interaction
  • Ameca is fitted with microphones, binocular eye mounted cameras, chest camera and facial recognition software
  • The robot is remarkable and still under development
  • It can be rented for functions but hasn't been priced yet for purchase
  • As seeing is believing, here's a look at Ameca in action with creator Will Jackson.  In a sense, it could be the new comedian of the future - it's great at cracking jokes.

REVOLUTIONARY PLANE ENGINE WITH NO MOVING PARTS

                                        Source:  Wave Engine

  • Baltimore-based aviation company Wave Engine has invented an engine with no moving parts, that is designed to revolutionize commercial aviation.  Here's what we know:
  • The engine is a brand-new take on pulse jet engine technology that dates back to German missiles in WW2
  • The engine has no moving parts
  • It operates by using pressure waves rather than moving parts
  • Has successfully been test flown
  • Engine looks like the exhaust system of a muscle car sitting on top of the plane
  • Big advantages:
  1. No moving parts mean no broken parts
  2. Much less costly
  3. Much more efficient
  4. Much less complex
  • Boeing and Pratt & Whitney are also working on this type of technology that's called a Pulse Detonation Engine (PDE)
  • This new tech under development could revolutionize commercial aviation.
