Zapata Air Racer                                        Source:  Zapata Air Racer One of a Kind Personal Flying Machine French entrepreneur and jet ski racer Franky Zapata has created a 1-person VTOL flying machine that can handle barrel rolls like a fighter jet and is coming to the US for test flights this year. Known as Air Racer (aka Jet Racer), here are the key facts: VTOL (vertical takeoff & landing vehicle) has 1 seat, 10 jet engines, each with independent electric controls, and is designed for nearly autonomous flight Pilot inputs into flight controller system app what the destination is and the control panel determines the best route to get there Vehicle is so technologically advanced and agile, it can be programmed to perform barrel rolls like a fighter jet Pilot controls only direction and altitude and the flight control panel autonomously pilots the rest of the flight Software that drives the control system is designed for stability Top speeds of 125 to 155 mph with most

He is known in France as "The Flying Man". He is famous for successfully flying over the English Channel in his homemade jetpack/hoverboard called Flyboard in 2019.  Now he and his company Zapata have invented a VTOL, or vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, that is powered by 10 micro-turbo-jet engines.  He says that JetRacer can keep on flying even if it loses 2 engines. What We Know About Jet Racer It's a single seat aircraft that can carry up to 440 pounds. In essence, it is part plane

1st Hoverboard Ride Over English Channel

France's Flying Inventor Franky Zapata Source:  Zapata flying into Dover, England French Inventor Goes 106 MPH French inventor Franky Zapata successfully crossed the English Channel today on  a jet powered hoverboard that he invented.  It's a 22 mile trip that took him 22 minutes from Sangatte, France to Dover, England.  At times he reached speeds of 106 mph. Second Try Was the Charm For Zapata, the second attempt brought success.  In late July, he made his first attempt but fell into the water when trying to land on a refueling platform in the middle of the Channel.  He missed it by inches. During today's successful flight, he stopped once to refuel because he started the journey with just 10 minutes worth of fuel.  When he landed in Dover, he commented:  "We made the machine 3 years ago and now we've crossed the Channel.  It's crazy!" Zapata Industries Zapata the inventor has created Zapata Industries.  He invented the Flyboard
