   Some Discounting for Online MBA Degrees Starting                            Source:  Stock Images of Digital Education Age of Digital Learning In the United States, the latest data shows that 5.5 million college students or 26% of the college student population are enrolled in online courses.  That number is dramatically escalating because of the tsunami of COVID, Delta and Omnicron cases flooding across the US and the world.  Top universities like Cornell are going remote and online once again.  Several new and important trends are beginning to surface about digital college learning and degrees. Airbnb Going Public - Nasdaq IPO

  Airbnb With a Possible $35 billion Valuation                                                       Source: Airbnb Fast, Dramatic Turnaround from COVID-19 Business Hit Airbnb, the San Francisco based home rental company, will debut on the Nasdaq on December 10, aiming for a valuation of $35 billion.  It along with DoorDash (my blog 10/30) are expected to be blockbuster U.S. IPO's to close out the year.  Airbnb was devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic.  As travel came to a halt, Airbnb had to layoff 25% of its workforce and get $2 billion in emergency funding from investors.  As people started traveling again in Q3 2020, the company's business turned around and it scored a surprise profit for Q3.  Two new trends moved the company forward.  People opted to book homes rather than hotels.  And, they preferred to book a home away from major cities.   60 More Broadband Satellites Launched Today                                                 Source:  NASA/SpaceX Elon Musk's Promise of More Inexpensive Internet  SpaceX has just deployed 60 more Starlink satellites into orbit.  SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk tweeted, when the satellites reach their targeted points, SpaceX will be able to roll out a fairly wide, public beta test in the northern United States and possibly in southern Canada.  And, he says, as soon as SpaceX receives regulatory approvals from more nations, he will roll the system into other countries.  Musk's space system is designed to deliver inexpensive internet services globally. Starlink Mega-Satellite Constellations for Global Internet This is the 13th Starlink low-earth orbit satellite launch so far.  SpaceX plans on dozens more as it grows its broadband mega-satellite constellation into thousands of small satellites.  The promise is for much less expensive internet availability on a global basis.  Tha

New Cottonseed Just Approved by FDA Regulators Source:  Texas A&M Cotton Plants Protein Packed & Hoped to Alleviate Global Malnutrition This is a remarkable, new, genetically altered cotton plant developed by scientists at Texas A&M University.  US regulators at the Food and Drug Administration have just approved the genetically modified cottonseed from the plant for human consumption and also for any type of animal consumption.  The new plant is being called a protein packed new food source.  It's said to taste like chickpeas. Helping to Feed the World Developers say it could help address global malnutrition.  The Texas A&M research team is talking with companies and expects to have the new plant commercialized and available within 5 years.  They are also working on regulatory approvals in other countries like Mexico. UK Space Internet Co. Readies for Blastoff

OneWeb Speeds Up Plans for Global High Speed Broadband Network Source:  OneWeb Bringing Mobile to the World The UK based, space internet company OneWeb has just secured an additional $1.25 billion in funding, bringing the total to $3.4B.  That enables it to accelerate plans for a global, high speed broadband network.  They say, they'll have the network launched in 2021.  They've already launched six satellite for service.  By the end of 2019 they'll be launching 30 satellites per month.  For global internet coverage, they'll need a network of at least 650 satellites. And, as the internet of things expands, that number could triple. Crowded Space OneWeb isn't alone in its goal to deliver global internet coverage.  Elon Musk's Space X is racing to do the same thing.  OneWeb has big pocket investors including Japan's tech giant SoftBank, Virgin Group and Coca-Cola.  The company is also launching low cost, mini satellites to bring mobile to the wo
