Netherlands' Carbon Capturing Car - Impressive Tech

Zem EV by Students at Eindhoven University of Technology                                                                 Source: Eindhoven University of Technology Awesome New Automotive Technology 35 Dutch students at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands have created a car that not only doesn't pollute the air, but also pulls carbon out of the air while it is being driven.  There is nothing in the global automotive industry very similar to this green machine.  The EV is called Zem and it is equipped with a special filter that cleans up nearby CO2 produced by other cars on the road and captures the carbon for disposal.  The 35 students on the TU/ecomotive team are the innovators behind this unique, battery powered prototype. Carbon Neutral Car The Zem is the students' response to the challenge to create a totally carbon neutral car.  Every step that they took in the year long process to develop the EV was guided by the mantra to minimize the production of any

World's 1st Self-Healing Car

MIT & Lamborghini's New Breakthrough Technologies                                                                 Source:  Lamborghini & MIT Lamborghini-MIT Terzo Millennio Concept Car Two global innovation leaders - MIT and Lamborghini - have joined forces to develop breakthrough automotive technologies.  What they are developing is really BIG.  They are developing the capability of automotive regeneration, meaning the car self-heals or self-repairs itself.  In fact, the two have created a concept car that includes self-healing:  The Terzo Millennio or Third Millennium concept car. Tech Details MIT and Lamborghini started work on the Terzo Project in 2016. By 2030, they are expected to reach maturity and unveil the world's first fully developed self-healing car, the Terzo Millennio. The team is using nanotechnology, specifically nanotube tech, to create strong, lightweight and self-healing car bodies.  Simultaneously, they are embedding supercapacitors into the car b

New Highly Advanced EV: No Brakes

New Highly Advanced Technology Replaces Traditional Brakes                                             Source:  DS Automobiles Future of Driving Imagine driving a car with no traditional brakes!  New technology called electric motor regeneration is enabling just that. In Paris, luxury automaker DS Automobiles, owned by Chrysler parent company Stellantis, has designed a highly advanced, electric car without conventional brakes.  Called the E-Tense concept, the electric vehicle is very powerful and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in two seconds.  It showcases the future of cars with no brakes. The car brakes and is stopped by using electric motor regeneration, a new technology that DS is deploying in its Formula E race car, the DS E-Tense Performance.  The system uses two onboard electric motors to slow the vehicle through regenerative braking and charges the EV in the process when stopping. How Does It Work? This technology is fascinating.  The DS E -Tense is built on the Formula E ra

BMW XM SUV Hybrid & Production 2022

750 Horsepower of Power and Energy Source:  BMW XM SUV Concept BMW's Concept Will Go into Production To celebrate BMW M model's 50th anniversary, BMW has unveiled a striking and powerful, plug-in hybrid electric SUV with 750 horsepower, the XM SUV concept.  It becomes the second M after the M1.  The XM is a performance vehicle that BMW is putting into production.  The boldly designed vehicle is striking with very angular lines, a huge front grill and extended hood.  It is like an artistic geometrical design in motion.  All of which is highlighted and enhanced by a sharply thin line of LED lighting. Tech Specs The XM concept is loaded with state-of-the-art technology designed for high performance.  The hybrid powertrain consists of a twin turbocharged, 4.4 liter V8 engine combined with an electric engine.  The electric motor has a 50-mile range on its own.  The combination pumps out 750 hp and 737 ft lbs. of torque.  The new concept is more powerful than Porsche's Cayenne

Solar Powered Car Coming to Market

The Aptera Sol Solar/Electric 3-Wheel Car s                                                                                 Source:  Aptera Motors Future of Solar Driving About to Enter the Global Market The Aptera Sol solar/electric, 3 wheel car is close to entering the global automotive, zero emissions market.  It is expected to hit the road in late 2021 or early 2022.  The vehicle can operate on only power from the Sun.  It is super lightweight and highly efficient with an ultra futuristic design.  The San Diego based company, Aptera Motors, says the vehicle has a range of 1,000 miles.  For a normal, daily commute of 40 miles, the solar panel alone can provide most of the power to drive.  Aptera says the panels are designed to harvest enough sunlight to power over 11,000 miles a year in most regions. It is supplemented by electric charging to its battery.  It is a zero emissions, green vehicle on three wheels and it is the essence of breakthrough automotive innovation. Look Inside
