Electric Car With Maximum Range and Efficiency

Mercedes Benz has a highly advanced technology experimental platform on wheels.  It's called the Vision EQXX prototype and MB technologists have been developing it and experimenting with it for a year and a half on the roads of Germany.  The EV just set another record for maximum range and efficiency, clocking 747 miles on a single charge. The electric sedan is being called the world's most efficient, innovative and technologically advanced EV, which is exactly what Mercedes' engineers were tasked to create.  No telling if or when it will go into production.  But experts say we will see much of its notable technology breakthroughs going into future Mercedes Benz vehicles.

Shaped Like a Teardrop

The Vision is a 4-passenger, road legal sedan that is shaped like a teardrop with the back narrower than the front.  It is aerodynamically designed with the exterior body composed of very lightweight, sustainable and nature inspired materials coupled with ultra-high strength steel and low CO steel.  It's said to be the world's most technologically advanced vehicle with unique battery technology and an easy-to-use digital interface.  The interior is futuristic, sustainable, luxurious and minimalist.

Some Technology Details

The battery pack on the Vision EQXX is unprecedented.  It delivers close to 400 Wh/l, takes half the space and is 30% lighter than other EV batteries. It uses an electrical architecture of 920 volts.  There are also 117 solar panels on the roof to provide additional solar energy to the EV and power some of its accessories.  The electric motor and invertor for the battery are both unique to the EQXX.  The data screening, user interface technology and infotainment systems are awesome.  They are backed up and powered by artificial intelligence, spiking neural networks for the interface and neuromorphic computing for the "Hey Mercedes" communications system.  Much of this intelligence goes onto the spectacular 47.5-inch dashboard display. Most of the interior seating, doors and dash are composed of sustainable, recycled and bio-materials.  The Vision EQXX is a spectacular technology showcase that is very likely to set more new records.  For more news like this, Daily Vehicle Briefing
