HALF MOTORCYCLE, HALF CAR, ALL-ELECTRIC

  • Yamaha has a unique, 3-wheeler concept called Tricera, that appears to be part motorcycle and part car. Here's what we know:
  • Looks like a traditional car, but it's an open-air, 3-wheeler with a fully open cockpit
  • Yamaha calls it an "electric autocycle"
  • Three-wheel steering system means that all 3 wheels - 2 in the front and 1 in the rear - turn at the same time
  • Additionally, Tricera will have a manual mode for rear-wheel steering
  • Said to be very maneuverable on turns
  • Very futuristic design
  • Vehicle is all-electric powered and produces zero emissions
  • No specs have been revealed
  • Will make its US debut at AIMExpo in Las Vegas on February 6
  • This is an intriguing new concept and alternative form of personal mobility from Yamaha, which has not revealed if it plans to put Tricera into mass production.
NEW WINGLESS PLANE UNDER DEVELOPMENT

  • A new wingless eVTOL called the Epiphany Transporter is being developed by California-based Applied eVTOL Concepts.  Some of its key technologies are NASA and DARPA proven. Applied just announced it's seeking a strategic JV partner to complete current development and win FAA approval.  Here are some key facts:
  • This is a new mode of personal mobility - a wingless plane
  • eVTOL
  • Range - 300 miles
  • Top speed - 160 mph
  • Instead of wings it uses morphing, dual-mode, tiltable ducted thrusters to hover like a helicopter and cruise at high speed and great efficiency like an airplane
  • Called the Epiphany Transporter
  • Fits in a garage
  • Carries 2 people
  • Ultra quiet
  • Uses advanced electric motors and batteries
  • Doesn't require an airport or road to takeoff and land
  • Triple redundant computer autopilot
  • Size of a Tesla Model S sedan
  • Fascinating new personal mobility vehicle to watch develop.

Electric, New MG Cyberster Sports Car

  China's SAIC Revolutionizes the Historic British MG Brand                                              Source:  MG Cyberster Electric MG Sport Car Concept Becomes a Reality The legendary sports car company MG was founded in the 1920's in Oxford, England. It enjoyed a long history of creating iconic MG, 2 seat sports cars. It is now China owned and China based, acquired a few years ago by SAIC Motors.  The new MG has a fabulous concept car the Cyberster.  It's an all electric sports car that was recently introduced at the Shanghai 2021 Motor Show.  MG just announced the vehicle is going from concept and into production.  MG calls it the "world's first purely electric e-sports cockpit".  The design of this electric vehicle is sleek, futuristic and highly styled with a wide grill that is a throwback to the original MGB as are the round headlights that open like eyes when the car is turned on.  It is truly an iconic, all electric sports car.
