  New ID Life Concept Just Unveiled in Munich                                                  Source:  VW Zero Emissions Driving At an Inexpensive Price At the IAA Mobility 2021 show in Munich, Volkswagen unveiled its ID Life concept electric vehicle.  VW says the concept is a preview of its upcoming, inexpensive $24,000 electric car. The Germany based automaker is in head-to-head competition with US based Tesla to bring the first, affordable, EVs to the global market in the $24,000 to $30,000 range.  The vehicles are fully electric with zero emissions.  Tesla CEO Elon Musk has a goal of bringing a small, electric car with his new battery system to market at a price starting at $25,000 in 2023.  VW is targeting a launch for its small, $24,000 electric car in 2025.  But those timeframes could radically change as this global race heats up.   7 Seat Electric SUV                                             Source:  Mercedes Benz Mercedes' Answer to the Tesla Model Y SUV  Mercedes Benz is launching its much anticipated all electric SUV, the EQB.  It is the Germany based company's answer to the Tesla Model Y, a compact SUV that is closing in on the most popular EV model spot in the world.  Sales are so strong for the Model Y in the US and China that Tesla is adding production capacity to build more at its new factories in Austin, Texas and Berlin, Germany. The electric vehicle is neither a classic motorcycle nor a scooter.  BMW Motorrad calls the CE 02 "completely new".  The EV has a youthful, stylish and innovative design for what BMW calls "single track mobility" in an urban environment.  And, above all, BMW says it is designed to be a fun ride.  The CE 02 targets a new demographic for BMW - people 16 years and older who haven't ridden a motorbike before but enjoy new experiences, smart technology and want to combine driving with fun.
