MG Is a Very Hot Automaker

British drivers are going very green with the MG hybrid HS SUV topping January car sales in the UK.  Here are the key facts:

  • Iconic British automaker MG, now owned by Chinese automaker SAIC, had the top selling car in the UK in January - its hybrid MG HS SUV
  • The MG hybrid beat out its top rivals, including VW's T-Roc and Nissan's Qashqai
  • Automotive experts say the MG hybrid is experiencing strong sales growth because of its reasonable pricing, styling and advanced automotive technologies
  • MG HS SUV is priced starting at 31,095 pounds ($37,494) which is less than that of its rivals
  • The hybrid combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with a 90kW electric motor
  • Electric motor provides 32 miles range
  • Interior features heated leather seats, smartphone connectivity, dual climate control and an 8" touchscreen infotainment display with Apply CarPlay or Android Auto to stay connected
  • MG UK sales in January were up 108%, making it a hot automaker
