HYUNDAI GRILL IS A LED MESSAGE BOARD

• South Korean automaker Hyundai is developing a front grill for future cars to communicate with the outside world as a LED message board
• The innovative grill will be able to communicate specific messages to those outside the vehicle
• The technology that Hyundai is focused on is a 71x33 RGB LED display through its supplier Mobis
• The grill will communicate information like the car is in autonomous mode or "Go Ahead" to a pedestrian attempting to cross in front of the vehicle
• BMW is developing similar technology with its iVision Circular Concept car, whose kidney shaped grill can display messages
• Opel is also deploying similar technology
• Clearly, communicative car technology is part of our automotive future.

NEXT-G COMPUTER THAT THINKS LIKE HUMAN BRAIN

• For years, artificial intelligence researchers have worked to create computers that have the capabilities of the human brain
• Now, a group of internationally renowned scientists at Johns Hopkins University say a next-G computer with the capabilities of the human brain will be created in our lifetime
• They forecast the development of a biocomputer powered by an organoid that contains millions of human brain cells
• It is called organoid intelligence (OI) and could be the next generation of computing
• The computing system uses organoids or lab grown tissue as the drivers instead of silicon chips
• Some scientists say this crosses an ethical line
• The Johns Hopkins team believes this could be done in a safe and ethical way
• The team is currently exploring how a 3-D brain cell culture "can be made more computer-like"
• The scientists think such as biocomputer could be faster, more powerful and more efficient than AI and use tremendously less energy.

US SPACE FORCE STATION'S ROBOT GUARD DOG

• The Cape Cod Space Force Station has a new, very high-tech robot guard dog that is now on surveillance and intelligence patrols at the base
• The robot is technically known as an"unmanned ground vehicle"
• Its job is to use its myriad of sensors to keep an eye out for any trespassers
• RoboDog was made by Asylon Robotics through a partnership with Boston Dynamics, which is famous for its RoboDog Spot
• The US' 6th Space Warning Squadron, along with the highly advanced radar early warning system Pave Paws are located on the base, so there are very valuable assets to be secured by the robot
• Robodog is not weaponized and is for security & spotting purposes
• The Squadron says the robodog helps it to "maintain high tempo perimeter security operations for deterrence and real-time intelligence"
• Robodog is yet another example of robots playing a highly valuable and essential role in everyday life & it is part of the squadron's hopes to automate certain security tasks.
