  • Nissan will reveal several electric vehicle concepts at the Japan Mobility Show this month.  The first is a small, sporty crossover EV called the Hyper Urban.  Here's what we know:
  1. It's designed to be parked in your home or apartment, instead of your garage
  2. The design is distinguishably futuristic on the outside, lounge-like on the inside and points to the future direction of Nissan design
  3. Target audience is urban/suburban professionals
  4. Has neither door handles nor a rear window and its rear-view mirrors are cameras
  5. Instrument panel is replaceable when newer ones become available
  6. Has scissor doors
  7. Collapsible front seats that convert into a sofa where a flip up screen can be used to watch videos
  8. Nissan says the Hyper Urban has both "vehicle to home" and "vehicle to grid" functionalities with AI choosing when the vehicle exports power to the home or gets a charge from the grid
  9. No word on powertrain details
  10. This is expected to be an important new EV edition to Nissan's lineup.

  • In both Bavaria, Germany and in Austin, Texas AI ChatGPT apps have done the preaching at Sunday church services.  And parishioner reaction is accepting, mixed with robotic criticisms.  Here are the facts:
  1. AI ChatGPT is more than capable of creating and conducting a full Christian church service, as evidenced by recent AI services in Germany and Texas, which appear to be firsts for the US and Europe
  2. At St. Paul Church in Bavaria, nearly 400 people worshipped with an AI ChatGPT avatar on a large screen above the altar who replaced the human pastor for the AI service
  3. The service lasted 40 minutes with the AI creating the sermon, prayer and hymns
  4. German theologian Jonas Simmerman used ChatGPT for the unique church service, 98% of which, he says, "came from the machine"
  5. Meanwhile, in Austin, Texas, at the Violet Crown City Methodist Church, Pastor Jay Cooper used Open AI's ChatGPT to conduct a recent Sunday service, create the sermon, prayers and original songs
  6. The pastor is a firm believer that religion shouldn't be frozen in the past but should utilize the latest technologies to get the message out, like AI
  7. At both AI services, the congregations accepted and worshipped with the AI tech
  8. The only limitations:  the AI preachers lacked "heart and soul - the human element" and the avatars delivered their sermons in monotonous, robotic tones
  9. With further technological advancements those shortcomings can be easily overcome
  10. We could be at the dawn of AI preachers.

  • Visa is investing $100 million in startup companies developing generative AI technologies and apps that will impact "the future of commerce and payments".  Here's what we know:
