FLYING CAR LANDS ON ROOFTOPS

  • The government of Japan is backing a highly innovative flying car that's designed for commuters and can land on rooftops.  Here's what we know:
  1. The Japanese government is investing $82 million into Japan-based eVTOL company SkyDrive
  2. The funding is part of Japan's innovation initiative for startups with high potential for growth and impact
  3. The investment money is for the accelerated development of SkyDrive's flying car that is designed for the commuting public
  4. eVTOL'S unique patent pending motor frame enables it to land on rooftops for easy access 
  5. SkyDrive will start building the flying cars in a partnership with Suzuki in 2024
  6. It plans to launch air taxi service in 2025
  7. The company says their vehicle has an affordable operating cost per person
  8. This is a flying car with a lot of potential.

  • New research in Europe indicates that when it comes to cats and dogs, dogs come out on top.  Here's what we know:
  1. University of Copenhagen researchers surveyed several thousand dog owners, cat owners and dog and cat owners and found that people are more caring for their dogs than for their cats
  2. In fact, they are more willing to provide the dogs with pet insurance, pay higher vet bills and are more caring for their dogs
  3. More than 2100 pet owners participated in the study in the UK, Denmark and Austria
  4. The dog preference was particularly pronounced in Denmark and Austria
  5. People in the UK were more even handed in caring for both their dogs and cats
  6. The results are fascinating and generate many questions, such as Why? and are the results different in other nations?

  1. This is a unique concept from Toyota - a build-it-yourself, highly configurable pick-up 
  2. It's modular, 2-seat and has a configurable flat-bed section
  3. Intended to be customized to the individual user's needs
  4. Can be used as an off-roader, food truck, emergency vehicle and more
  5. Electric powertrain
  6. 2-door cabin
  7. Big Tires
  8. Big front bumper
