  A Billionaire's Vision and Dream of Utopian City Telosa                                              Super:  Telosa Renderings New City in Southwestern US that Could be Home to Millions Billionaire Marc Lore, who funded e-commerce company Jet.com, wants to build a totally sustainable new city to house 5 million residents in the southwestern US.  To do so, he is employing a very accomplished architect Bjarke Ingels of Denmark along with his firm Bjarke Ingels Group to design his city of the future.  It is called Telosa, which is Greek for "higher purpose". The city is financially based on a community owned business model.  The mission of the city is to create a sustainable and equitable future.  Telosa's website says of Telosa: "What if you pay the same taxes today but get the best social services for any country in the world?"  The question is: Is this quixotic, utopian city envisioned by a dot.com billionaire worthy of your consideration?  Let's dive

  President Joe Biden Pledges Aggressive Action on Climate Change                                                                                                  Source:  The White House White House Virtual Climate Summit on Earth Day At the White House Virtual Climate Summit, President Joe Biden pledged to cut US greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030.  The pledge will require massive changes and breakthrough renewable energy innovations for the US energy and transportation industries. President Biden says it is absolutely necessary and doable.  Biden made the pledge before more than 40 government leaders from around the world at his virtual, 2 day Leaders Summit on Climate, designed to demonstrate that the US is once again a strong force in the fight against Climate Change.  The previous Administration scoffed at Climate Change, withdrew from the Paris Accords and derailed efforts to fight global warming.  One of President Biden's first acts as President was to rejoin the Pari

Air Force Kick Starts Flying Car Industry Source:  Sabrewing Rhaegal  Launches Agility Prime Open Competition The US Air Force is kick starting the flying car industry.  It wants thirty flying car vehicle models by 2030.  To achieve its goals, the Air Force is launching an open challenge to the flying car industry, called Agility Prime.  USAF Assistant Director Dr. Will Roper says there are multiple companies in a position to win the competition and deliver.  Specifically, the Air Force wants EVTOLs or electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles. Targets 2030's To Sell EVs Only Aims for Carbon Free Society Japan's Subaru Corp. just announced that it's targeting the first half of the 2030's to sell only electric cars worldwide.  The automaker has a long term goal of helping to foster a carbon free society.  Subaru's plan is bold and ambitious.  It comes just as Subaru announced an intensified relationship with Toyota to essentially share the costs of developing new technologies for electric and self-driving cars. Detailed Plan Subaru has a series of specific targets it wants to meet in order to go all-electric.  First, it will develop a "strong hybrid" that will include Toyota technologies. The "strong" hybrid is believed to be in concept stage right now.
