Until now, electric, all-terrain motorcycles have been few and far between and very expensive.  This new bike can be ordered and reserved for $260.00 and delivered in September for $7190.00 Tech Specs and Other Features The bike's electric motor, which is housed in the hub of the rear wheel, delivers a peak of 11 kW, continuous power of 6 kW and a peak torque of 37 ft-lb.   Mid-Sized Motorcycles Driving Adventures Motorcycling's ADV Adventure Segment is Booming in Popularity The mid-sized, ADV adventure segment of motorcycle riding is booming in popularity.  It's a fun sport, athletic and keeps you outdoors. And it's relatively inexpensive to buy a vehicle, which you can also use for highway commuting.  Now, nearly 100-year-old Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati and its latest bike Desert X have joined the ADV race, that includes BMW, Yamaha and KMW.  Desert X is an all new, all terrain bike that packs 108 hp at 9,250 rpm and 68 ft lbs of torque at 6500 rpm.  Desert X will hit dealer showrooms in May 2022.  The starting price is $16,795.00 and the technology is impressive.  Ducati is owned by Audi via its Italian subsidiary Lamborghini.   Tech Specs The Desert X is powered by the 11 degree, Testastretta Desmodromic L-twin engine, used in the Monster bike. Honda's Self-Balancing Motorcycle Tech

  Riding Assist 2.0                                                                                                   Source:  Honda A Real Balancing Act Honda has developed self-balancing, stabilizing technology for motorcycles.  It is called the Rider Assist 2.0, which the company has been working on for five years.  They have demonstrated its efficacy on a big heavy bike, the NM4 Vulture.  The technology keeps the rider steady and balanced at low speeds and when stopped.  The rider can bike and make turns at low speeds without tipping.  They can also mount and dismount while the bike remains stable.   Robotic Technology This new technology is still under development by Honda.  The Riding Assist 2.0 uses Honda robotic technology to keep the bike steady instead of using gyroscopes to aid in balance.  The new technology enables a key feature:  the bike's rear wheel swings to adjust the angle of the rider and the motorcycle to maintain stability.   Potential Impact This new technolo

Helmet Mounted Brake Light that's Sensor Activated Important New Safety Tech for Motorcyclists It's called BrakeFree and it's been innovated by a startup in San Jose, CA.  The device is a helmet mounted, brake light system that's activated by sensor arrays.  It detects the engine breaking, break activation, the motorcycle's deceleration and flashes a big LED illumination on the back of the helmet.  If you're a biker, it's a safety device worthy of taking a look at.
