Ascendance Flight Technologies' New Green Aviation

French aviation startup Ascendance Flight Technologies has invented a new, hybrid, vertical takeoff and landing vehicle (VTOL) for intracity and regional aircraft commuting.  The 5-seat ATEA uses two forward facing propellers and 8 fan engines in its wings.  The eight electric powered fan engines enable vertical takeoffs and landings.  The diesel fuel powered forward facing propellers enable forward flight.  The unique VTOL has a range of 250 miles.  Its hybrid powertrain uses jet fuel and electricity as power sources.  The company says the combination cuts carbon emissions by 80%.  Importantly, AETA can be reconfigured to use green fuels, including hydrogen fuel cells, biofuels and sustainable aviation fuels to further cut down on emissions.

Tech Specs

The hybrid electric and jet fuel systems work independently of each other.  The electric engines power the rotors and the jet fuel powers the two forward facing propellers.  The configuration of the 8, fan engine rotors embedded in the front and back wings is what distinguishes this new piece of aviation innovation.  It significantly cuts the aircraft's noise level.  The company says that ATEA can be recharged in ten minutes.

Great Views

AETA has a Skyview cabin that provides great visibility for the pilot and passengers.  Ascendance Flight Technologies' goal is to accelerate the transition to green aviation through hybrid technologies that are relatively inexpensive and easy to fly.  The company expects to start production of AETA in 2025.  The company says the VTOL has been designed to meet regulatory standards and approvals.  To take a look at many more new flying concepts, go to https://read.amazon.com/kp/embed?asin=B093J89VF5&preview=newtab&linkCode=kpe&ref_=cm_sw_r_kb_dp_EMBZ1RF4RP3A6M3TZDYZ
