Beauty of Space Through NASA & Telescopes

Image
Magnificent Space Images from Global Telescopes                                                   Source:  NASA Cosmic Delight Through Advanced Technology NASA has released a spectacular display of cosmic images from highly advanced telescopes positioned around the world and in space.  This is the universe seen through the prism of the latest technology - gamma rays, radio waves and infrared. The image above is that of the Cartwheel Galaxy.  It shows a small galaxy passing through a "bulls-eye" galaxy stretching more than 150,000 light years.  It was caught on tape by X-ray imaging from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory. Messier 82                                                       Source:  NASA This is another spectacular image.  The Messier 82 galaxy is pictured in X-rays and optical light using data from the Hubble Space Telescope and Chandra.  The galaxy is immense, spanning 20,000 light years.  Its formation is the result of repeated supernova explosions. GALAXY DISCOVERED THAT SHOULDN'T BE

Image
Astronomers Find It in Deep Space Source:  ALMA The Wolfe Disk Astronomers have discovered a massive disk galaxy deep in the universe.  It is almost as old as the universe itself at 12.5 billion years old.  The universe is believed to be 13.8 billion years.  It's called the Wolfe Disk and is yet another wonder in space just unveiled by astronomers, who are baffled by its very existence.   The Galaxy That Shouldn't Be What's intriguing is that astronomers say the Wolfe Disk shouldn't exist and shouldn't be where it is in deep space.  Those statements are based on astronomers' current understanding of galaxies.  Their key question is: how did such a well formed rotating disk galaxy  form at a time of chaos in space?  A time when galaxies formed during violent collisions and chaotic mergers.  Created in a Different Way The astronomers believe the Wolfe Disk was created and grew in a very different way.  They theorize that it grew through the steady

Fascinating New Book on the Latest Space Discoveries Travel to New Worlds Just Discovered in Space Journalist Edward Kane's  latest book "Space 2020's: What's Up There? " has just been published on Amazon and Kindle as an e-book  ASIN: B087DV4DZ6 and paperback   ASIN: B087FFM5B7 I co-authored the book with Ed. Fascinating Journeys The book is a journey to exciting and mysterious new worlds just discovered by NASA, the European Space Agency and global astronomers with  powerful space. telescopes. Space Vacations The book details exotic planets that rain diamonds, Earth-like planets that may contain extraterrestrial life, baby stars being born, massive exploding supernovas, black holes, black matter and much more.  Reading the book is like a vacation in space.   amazon.com/author/ekane ... ...

Space Tsunamis

Image
New NASA Discovery NASA:  Quasar Tsunami Energy Outflows Accelerating at 46 Million Miles Per Hour NASA's Hubble space telescope has spotted tsunamis ripping across galaxies in deep space.  The tsunamis spotted by NASA astronomers are actually quasar tsunamis.  Quasars are objects similar to stars in distant space.  NASA just unveiled the discovery.  They are calling it "the most energetic outflow ever witnessed in the Universe." 13 Quasar Outflows Spotted The outflows from the quasars tear across interstellar space causing massive havoc to the galaxies where the quasars reside. The amount of energy is tremendous.  And the velocities of the quasars is unfathomable - 46 million miles per hour, or as NASA puts it a few percentages of the speed of light. NASA was able to study 13 quasar outflows and also measure the speed of the gas spewing out of them being accelerated by the quasar wind. Quasars, Black Holes and Galaxies Quasars contain massive black holes

Milky Way New Mapping, Extradordinary

Polish Astronomers Provide Large and Precise 3D Scaled Map  Source:  University of Warsaw Surprise Finding "Warped and Twisted", Not Flat Astronomers from the University of Warsaw in Poland have created the most precise and largest  map of the Milky Way to date.  By tracking thousands of stars pulsating in the galaxy, they've created a 3D scale map of the system.  They discovered that it isn't as flat as a pancake but twists and turns in shape much more than previously thought by astronomers. Spiral Galaxy The Milky Way is a spiral galaxy measuring 120,000 light years across.  It's a mass of stars, gas and dust about 27,000 light years from the Earth.  The team found the distortions in the Milky Way are immense with some stars 60,000 light years away from the Milky Way's center. And, the galaxy's thickness is quite variable. Potential Causes The astronomers cited several potential causes for the "warped and twisted"

Facebook AI Now ID's Galaxies

AI ID From Face to Deep Space Source:  Dr. Chen Wu & Dr. Ivy Wong, Radio Galaxy Predictions from ClaRan ClaRan Faces off in Space Researchers have taught an AI program that's routinely used to recognize faces on Facebook to find galaxies deep in space.  Its mission has been transformed from face to space.  The artificial intelligence bot is called ClaRan.  It's been created by researchers at the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) who also serve on the faculty of the University of Western Australia. Radio Galaxies ClaRan scans images taken by radio telescopes.  It spots radio galaxies, which are galaxies that send strong radio jets from the huge black holes located in them. This new AI system was just created by big data specialist Dr. Chen Wu and astronomy expert Dr. Ivy Wong of the University of Western Australia and ICRAR. Millions of Unknown Galaxies Dr. Wong says black holes are found at the center of most galaxies. They send out &q

Exploding Star Gamma-Rays - Reverse Time

Image
Space and Time Gamma-Ray Burst in the Universe Is Time Reversed by Gamma-Rays from Exploding Stars This is intriguing scientific research about space, time, dying stars, black holes and gamma-ray bursts.  Astrophysicists at the College of Charleston in South Carolina have examined 6 of the brightest gamma-ray bursts detected by NASA.  They found time-reversed light signatures.  The gamma-rays seem to reverse time. Supernovas and Black Holes When a dying star - a supernova - collapses into a black hole, it sends out a spectacular burst of gamma-rays. Gamma-rays are the highest energy explosions ever detected.  They shine "a million-trillion" times brighter than the sun. They produce more energy than anything else that emits light. Gamma-Ray to Black Hole Mystery A gamma-ray burst represents the formation of a black hole when a star explodes.  According to the astrophysicists, odd things happen with both space and time in a black hole. The gamma-rays have a signatu
