United Adds Hundreds of Air Taxis to Fleet

  United Buys 200 Air Taxis from Eve; Option of 200 More                                                         Source:  Eve  United Also Invests $15M in Eve United Airlines is making it clear that it believes flying taxis are a big part of the near-term future of air travel.  United has announced the purchase of 200 eVTOLs (electric, vertical takeoff & landing vehicles) from Eve Air Mobility of Melborne, Florida.  Additionally United has the option of purchasing 200 more eVTOLs from Eve.  And, United is also investing $15 million in the company.  Delivery of the 4-seat electric aircraft will be in 2026.  Eve was recently spun off by Brazilian aviation giant Embraer and went public.  Embraer and Eve maintain working relationships.  As a result, Embraer service centers, warehouses and field technicians will service the air taxis for United, along with Eve technicians. Interestingly, it's a totally, all-electric, green machine that's made of plant-based material.  Specifically, the body is composed of natural fiber reinforced polymer which is similar to carbon-fiber in its lightweight nature.  This vehicle is something new, exciting and unexpected from BMW.  Automotive experts are intrigued by what the car is, what it may become and what BMW's plans are for it -- all of which BMW hasn't disclosed.  We do know one thing: the performance of the off-roader is very impressive.   Toyota's Secret Weapon                                   Source: Toyota & Toyota Patent Filing Toyota Is Seeking Patent Protection For the New Vehicle Toyota is scurrying to secure patent protection on a surprise, small, hybrid-electric SUV that it's developing.  Experts say that the patent filing for the vehicle, which occurred in Australia, clearly depicts the Toyota small SU EV concept that was unveiled in December 2021, but with some very innovative new styling. Production Ready Vehicle Automotive experts believe that this is a production-ready design and quite a surprise weapon for Toyota.  The design is virtually identical to the December 2021 concept with the exception of a new, lower bumper with an unusual, embedded honeycomb pattern on the vehicle's front end, along with integrated fog lights.
