SEOUL'S HUGE, HOLLOW FERRIS WHEEL INNOVATION

  • Seoul, South Korea has plans to build the world's largest, spokeless Ferris wheel, which will be a marvel of green innovative technology
  • Called the Seoul Ring, it will stand 591 feet tall and be a crown jewel on the city skyline by 2027, while offering passengers spectacular views
  • Ferris wheels normally have cables running through the middle of them, but new technology now allows them to operate without cables
  • The huge, fun attraction will be powered by green technologies, including solar power
  • Once completed, the Ferris wheel will have 36 carriages, capable of carrying 25 passengers each or nearly 12,000 passengers per day
  • The Seoul Ring will be visible across the border in North Korea & rotate as a symbol of unity
  • The city of Seoul intends to start building the novel piece of innovation in 2025.

WORLD 1st: QUANTUM COMPUTER FOR HEALTH CARE INNOVATIONS

  • IBM & Cleveland Clinic have just unveiled the world's 1st quantum computer solely dedicated to health care research & medical innovation
  • The IBM Quantum System One quantum computer handles large amounts of data at quantum speeds and is now operational at Cleveland Clinic's Lerner Research Institute
  • It is focused on discovering innovative new treatments for some of the world's most intractable diseases like cancer, Alzheimer's & diabetes
  • The IBM-Cleveland Clinic 10-year partnership started in 2021 to use emerging technologies to tackle some of the biggest challenges in health care
  • They're using high performance hybrid cloud computing, next-generation AI & now quantum computing to advance treatments
  • First uses of the quantum computer include:  chemical simulations to find new molecules for drug therapies; understanding complex systems; and sequencing genes in cancer cells
  • This partnership is the first, private sector-IBM managed quantum computer in the US.

MITSUBISHI'S RUGGED 2024 TRITON UTE

  • Nissan-owned Mitsubishi previewed its much anticipated next-generation 2024 Triton pickup truck at an event in Thailand, where it is manufactured
  • The new truck will be unveiled in upcoming months & will hit showrooms in the spring of 2024
  • The vehicle has bold, square and rugged-looking body lines
  • It appears to have a much longer wheelbase and a larger cabin than the previous model
  • Mitsubishi has not released details on what will power it nor whether it might be a Mitsubishi or Nissan diesel engine or a brand new engine
  • Automotive experts do not expect it to be an electric powered truck
  • However, Mitsubishi has said that it will launch 16 new vehicles - 9 hybrid & electric - in the next 5 years & the company is promising key facts in the next few months.
