  • The Ford Mustang Dark Horse GT3 is putting in thunderous practice laps at the Sebring International Raceway in Florida to rev up for real global competition in 2024
  • The race car is a favorite of Ford CEO Jim Farley who took to Twitter over the weekend to ask the public for feedback on "Should we make a road version?" of the stunning, state-of-the- art racecar
  • That is a very innovative decision-making tactic on the part of Jim Farley, who has been a very effective leader for Ford, provided stability, advocated for electrification & and has rolled out a slew of hot new vehicles
  • The response to Farley's question on Twitter has been a red hot Yes for the street legal, road version
  • The racetrack GT3 has a 5.0 liter V8 engine, likely the last ICE (internal combustion engine) Mustang and is being entered in many global competitions including NASCAR
  • The street version will likely be the 2025 GT3 Mustang, which could be electrified or hybrid & likely a very big winner for Ford
  • This GT3 is something to watch for, as the conversion of cutting edge automotive technologies from the racetrack to consumer vehicles has proved to be the cutting edge in driving.

  • London-based Lyte Aviation, an advanced air mobility startup, has a 40-seat air taxi/eVTOL called SkyBus that could disrupt the urban air mobility industry
  • SkyBus has a range of 625 miles and a maximum speed of 187 mph
  • It's a hybrid electric, tandem tilt wing design with 2 separate propulsion systems
  • One propulsion system consists of 4 electric motors on the wingtips for control & stability powered by hydrogen fuel cells and the other consists of 4 turbine engines powered by jet fuel & SAF (sustainable aviation fuel
  • The company says these eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles) are five-times more efficient than current helicopters
  • Full scale prototype will be unveiled within 2 years
  • Lyte has developed a similar eVTOL called SkyTruck for cargo transport
  • SkyTruck is designed to deliver time sensitive cargo faster than current systems, without need of runways, point to point, both on and offshore.

CLIMATE CHANGE IS DECONSTRUCTING THE ALPS

  • New research shows that Climate Change is having a devastating impact on the magnificent Alps
  • The ice that holds together the rock facades of the Alps is starting to thaw to the extent that it is increasing the threat of sudden rock slides
  • Scientists are using a network of sensors to monitor the permafrost in the rock wall of steep sections of Mount Blanc, which is the tallest peak in Europe
  • Permafrost is melting at an alarming rate & threatening the mountains that it literally glues together in ice
  • Permafrost is soil and rocky material that stays frozen continuously at least 2 years and holds up the face of the Alps
  • Scientists warn that some of the ice is ancient permafrost up to 4500 years old & it's melting away at an alarming rate, as discovered in recent rock falls.
