Apple to Lauch Advanced AR Devices
Augmented Reality Headset and Glasses
2022 and 2023
Apple is looking to release an AR headset by 2022 and a sleek set of AR glasses by 2023. CEO Tim Cook believes AR technology will be potentially as important as the iPhone. Apple executives briefed their employees on the plans in the past few days.
New 3D Sensor Operating System
Reports indicate that Apple intends to use a 3D sensor system to support the AR headset and glasses. These systems would have the capability to create 3D reconstructions of objects, rooms and people. New, top of the line iPhones and a new iPad Pro could be available with the 3D sensor operating system in 2020.
New Mixed Reality Systems
There are also indications that Apple engineers in the iPhone and iPad groups are working on a mixed reality headset and glasses operating system called rOS. No details from Apple on that intriguing technology. For a free Kindle borrow of one of the books I co-authored "How to Use AI & AR", go to amazon.com/author/ekane
Continuous Supply of New Neurons Tied to Lifetime Learning & Memory Important Discovery by University of Pennsylvania Medical School Scientists
This is breakthrough research from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. The scientists have shown for the first time that brain neurons grow and develop over a lifetime from a single population of stem cells in the hippocampus region of the brain. That region is the brain's center of memory and learning. It's also a key area of reaction to stress and mood adjustments.
Why is This Important to You
The discovery underscores how a continuous supply of new neurons throughout life is the source of youthful like learning and memory throughout your life. The discovery was found in research on mice. And, it sets a new benchmark. It helps neuroscientists to determine how to enable youthful life brain conditions for memory and learning for all of us throughout our lives. It's also a path of discovery to repair and regen…
IBM has unveiled the world's first commercial and standalone quantum computer. The IBM Q System One is the first quantum computer to leave the research lab. It's on display at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The computer sits inside a 9 foot tall and 9 foot wide glass case. It is the same display case as the one that protects the Crown Jewels in the Tower of London. The computer is so powerful it leaves supercomputers in the dust. 1st Test for CTE, Sports-Related, Traumatic Brain Injuries in the Living
Breakthrough Research and Discoveries by Boston University Scientists
CTE is the danger for players inherent in any contact sport. Repeated hard hits to and rattling of the
head in the course of games taking a cumulative toll and resulting in traumatic brain injury CTE which is a fatal disease. Until now, there was no way to detect it in the living. The only reference points for doctors were changes in mood and behavior in the patient following a bad hit to the head and concussion.. But now, there is a brain scan test to detect the abnormal protein tau which is an indicator that the disease condition is present. It's an important breakthrough just announced by scientists at Boston University.
